Why? Is it His fault that there are so many who choose not to believe? Are there not a majority of brothers and sisters who still actually sincerely believe in eternal torment, despite the revelation of the Father's character through the life of Christ? If we knew that, we'd start to excuse it...

Not wanting to throw the thread into disarray, but are you not at the forefront of the anti law brigade on this forum? Are you advocating that governments of the world must have law to govern, but God cannot?

I agree, and think that Epicurus' thesis a devilishly devised attack on the character of God... And that's the issue at stake here. Theodicy is a fascinating subject, and I love meditating upon it, and have a clear enough understanding of the issue in my mind, but often always fall short of...

Yeah. That Sabbath is such a burden and a right pain isn't it.

It is astonishing to me that the kingdom of God is the only kingdom in the universe wherein it's presumed subjects... Those who claim this same God as their King... Are so determinedly opposed to the King's law, and inventing human reasons as excuses for disobeying it, even attempting to justify...

The only real necessity I see for man is to overcome evil... Not experience it.

You started out with the statement that the Bible alone is not the arbiter of truth. With this I agree. Jesus said that the holy Spirit would lead us into all truth. The holy Spirit inspired the scriptures. So the holy Spirit would never contradict what He has already revealed through the...

That's too kind.

The delay is because the church is asleep. The 10 virgins were all asleep but good wants to save all ten, not just 5. And yes, there's a harvest and no laborers. Are you, can't remember the moniker for the group, who believe the 2nd coming is at the end of the 1000 years... Or beginning? But...

I would ask, why does God need to go through another 1000 years of heartache and rebellion... Isn't the current controversy enough to secure a people for Himself? Doesn't He already rule His kingdom, and this already dealing with rebellion, and had prophetically informed and warned the world of...

Hey Zig. That's terrible. Takes a long time, if ever, to get over something like that. My wife was sexually abused as a young child by a sibling. When she got the courage and told her mother, she was beaten with a vacuum hose and told to shut up. She still struggles with that. After 60 years...

. "A revival of true Godliness among us is the greatest and most urgent of all our needs. To seek this should be our first work" ( Pr 3.5

We live in serious times. Events in our world call upon every follower of Christ to be totally in earnest in our relationship with God.

Violence in art, media, and literature is merely the same symptom as literal violence in the streets, in the home, in the schools. It is a prophetic picture that we cannot ignore, KJV Genesis 6:13 13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with...

Actually I think there's a great deal of truth in that. He cannot attack Jesus personally, but He knows he can hurt Him through His church. "Why dost thou persecute Me' He said to Paul. Jesus identified Himself with His people. You hurt them, you hurt Him. At the end of the 1000 years there is...

Hi Mary. I agree with Jesus when He said He is a door. That doesn't mean He's slab of pine with hinges. I also agree with Jesus and the apostles and the entire OT when they forbade drinking of blood. Your church, when it controlled the state, persecuted and killed those who disagreed with...

What is the most important decision you will have to make in life? To die.

Aaah, but did He? Strange that it took 1200 years for your church to officially recognize this.

No, what I am saying is that salvation is all about Who Jesus is... Not about Who He isn't. Many recognize their need of a Savior and also recognize that only through faith in the blood of the Lamb can salvation be found. Who is Jesus? He is merciful, gracious, long-suffering, full of goodness z...

Mmmm. I might add that certainly our faith is centered upon who we believe Jesus is, as opposed to who we believe He is not.
