    Excellent brother.

An all to often repeated practise among Christians. Sin indeed separates. Look at Adam and Eve. They hid fearing God would kill them. When we fall, how often do we refrain from Bible study or attending church or praying because we don't "feel worthy"? It's because we stop trusting.

When in glory we look back on those times of doubt and wondering why God led us a certain way other than our initial desires, we will understand and agree that all was for our good, and that of we could see the end from the beginning in our time of crisis, we would have chosen God's way.

Your self awareness is a wonderful gift. I think having that self awareness is the first step in overcoming. And sometimes we need to hear others telling us who we are. I remember when I first felt convicted to give up smoking. I tried several times, sometimes for months, but would return. It...

KJV 2 Corinthians 13:8 8 For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.

I can't see any relationship between "handwriting of ordinances" , presumably by human hand on earth, and the books/records in heaven that when opened shall reveal names of the saved and lost, and the deeds of them confirming their condemnation. Those books were not nailed to the cross, not even...

Returning To A 19th Century Standard Of Living Soon?

This thread presents a possible scenario and seemingly plausible timeline for the financial future of the planet. But this financial paradigm I think we need to realize is but a means to an end. The real goal is a global religion that shuts out Jesus, introducing a counterfeit. Both scenarios...

The United Nations and the Occult

The following lecture was first given 18 years ago. A lot of water has passed under the bridge since... Is the information given still relevant; have the goals of the UN as revealed 70 years ago by it's leaders, been realized in society? And what are those goals?

Then I would suggest you have forgiven them already. Doesn't take away the pain. You may still be hurting, but that's okay. You want the best for them, they are forgiven.

Have you ever prayed for those who have hurt you, prayed that they may come to know Christ and His forgiveness? Do you want to see them saved and in heaven?

I thought we were talking about the second death, not the first. Yes, all sin is already forgiven. Except as you say, the blasphemy against the holy Spirit. That is the sin of unbelief that rejects the forgiveness already offered. But once Christ comes and takes His bride to meet the Father...

The wages of sin, ultimately, after an appropriate period of punishment, is death. You are advocating that sinners receive eternal life. That they continue to live as you suggest, in misery, (one has to be alive to feel anything, including misery) is what is absurd. It is unbiblical in the...

The wages of sin is death. Our discussion really hinges on our definition of death. That last farthing is the last final breath. Then oblivion. Debt paid. Life given.

Even though liking something better may be a direct reflection of the Spirit of God within us? I think conscience is a reliable backstop when both sides of a doctrinal dispute fail to convince. Also as corroboration to truth.

So whose debt was he paying off if not his own?
  17. Brakelite

    Church Bashing

The unforgiving servant has to pay the debt. Therefore Jesus didn't pay it. Can anyone enter glory if Jesus didn't pay for their ransom from death?

Those are indeed the verses from which people have devised the idea that Jesus preached to people in hell. I would ask these questions however in order to direct perhaps a closer reading of the passage at hand... First, answer this... By whose power and when did the prophets of old warn Israel...

That's an interesting response Mark. Yes, God gave us a book. And very few believed it. And many, even most, when they read it today think God is as you portray Him. Vindictive, vengeful, spiteful, judgemental and unjust. Demanding people worship Him and then torturing people forever when they...

Have you considered that if the unforgiving servant had to pay the debt, his boss didn't?
