"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

Exactly...as I said, water baptism is a sign, and Jesus's baptism by the Holy Spirit is what it points to. Why then, have you been arguing the point?

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

I have already answered about opposites. What is your point--what are you getting out?

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

Since you say there is only one baptism and refer to this in the scriptures, why then do you hold onto water baptism, why do you not drop the water baptism and only refer to the baptism of Christ by the Holy Spirit? I suspect you only do so to defend your doctrine which prefers water baptism as...

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

You are separating what God has joined together...which He also does, but only for explanation--not because they are actually separate. It is not good that you separate them...you are just confusing yourself as did those who went before you, who and made a doctrine of it. It is a doctrine of errors.

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

theefaith was talking about having to do works to be saved. I was responding.

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

It refers to "John's baptism" as opposed to "Jesus' baptism"--water, as opposed to the Holy Spirit. Acts 19

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

Yes, opposites are opposites. Why do you ask?

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

For we walk by faith, not by sight. Eyes to see does not refer to the flesh, but of the Spirit. And that is the faith given to look for Him to appear a second time. Yes, and even as Paul came to say, "For me to live is Christ." But again, you have answered with the right words, but have not...

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

The commission, also referred to as the Great Commission is when Jesus sent out his disciples, saying, "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded...

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

Believe, yes...which is the basis of faith. But neither are actions or works, they are what is in the heart. The scriptures (James) then say that having belief and faith (inwardly) in our hearts, if given the opportunity, it will indeed result in good works. This is confirmed of salvation, by...

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

You might (should) drop the religious jargon and definitions off the discussion...that is your fathers religion getting in the way. We would do better to just talk Bible, in concise scriptural terms. Okay...there is no before or after in that regard, there is only a before and after God drawing...

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

That is correct. I see my grace to those who labor was not needed technically with you--Yes, it is God, not the individual. But some are not ready to hear that we become One, therefore I spoke as I did. Thank you.

The Problem with 2 Peter 1:1

You are mincing words and quenching the Spirit. "He", the "Helper", "the Spirit of Truth"-- But who is "the Truth?" By what you have just said, you deny that Jesus is God also! As for the Spirit, which was not called "He" until Christ introduced "Him", He has inspired the scriptures. But we...

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

No. Nothing that is bound in heaven, need be first bound on earth. You have it backwards...and therefore, wrong. “I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire...

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

You do not understand what you are saying. "His church" is not one of flesh and blood--not of this world. But in everything that you have named, you refer to how it as in the world. This is the error from the beginning.

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

No...Jesus was speaking of the evil servants, telling them they would be cut out of their spiritual blessing in this world for limiting His commission to flesh and blood.
  17. ScottA

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

"Charity" refers only to the "commission" of spreading the gospel to the ends of the earth. Otherwise, "You can do nothing."
  18. ScottA

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

No...other than receiving it as a free gift, none of anything that is done is done of our "own doing."
  19. ScottA

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

As I said...it is only a vision of what occurs in the Spirit, which is done to carry the gospel to the ends of the earth, to those who need the visual. So, yes, do it. But understand just where the power lies--which is not in the water, but in the Spirit. God is spirit.

"Salvation" is the gift of Eternal Life - it's FOREVER.

I have stated the truth for you in the simplest of terms, but your religion betrays you. Loose it, or be "cut in pieces." Matthew 24:51
