So I take it this a book of denial. LOL The Pope has apologized for these evils. The historians out there are not necessary religious so they are not taking up for the Protestants. If you want to live in a fantasy world between your ears that is your choice.

I agree.....with the theology of it, but that is not what happened. You are just hurting yourself. Most anywhere on the web the Protestant Inquisition is the catholic torturing Protestants....you are looking for a needle in a haystack. I know denial when I see it.

Well my friend the Old Testament is not the Gospel.....Good New! Good New of Christ. Ya know how would you measure change of a God? Do you think Christ would command Christians to kill all that breaths and do not forget the babies? Is that a Change? God bless you mister!

I am great. Retired and happy, healthy and having fun. Making fun of the global warmists.....the weather people have been trying to forecast warmer weather here for a month! But they keep having to change it....every morning it is 32 degrees or less. Hope you are doing great!

There are a lot of words there but the word that pretty much nullifies the rest is "if" if he keeps all my statutes....some say that is impossible and none were righteous....God afford Abraham righteous because of..... Like James said....For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles in one...

You are probably going to be sorry you said all that! Look, my religion and my take on history is not about what I like and what I do not like. It is what it is. And I know you do not like what happened, and neither do I, but what happened....happened. Not accepting the truth about the past...

This is just something for you to think about. Picture a wall with 613 bricks....the Mosaic Law has 613 Laws, but it was not enough to lead a culture to a moral conclusion, it was not enough to provide a path to heaven. They were hard, they were cruel, and no one could keep them and no matter...

It kind of makes sense....but then they killed thousands of people that were not heretics?......or were some of them heretics?.....how did they know....which ones were heretics?......torture.....blood tests.....crystal ball? LOL I am thinking that is a modern belief. I would have no problem...

How many ways have you been proven wrong on this. Acts 2:38 tells you what to do. If your not reading the Bible to do what you are told to do....why bother reading it? If you are expecting for the Bible to reiterate Acts: 2:38 every time the topic comes up....you are wrong because the format of...

Better to disagree with people. Applying labels is like peeing into a fan. It is one thing to be stupid and then another to open your mouth and remove all doubt. Not saying you are stupid at all. But label are like that. They are generally inaccurate and mostly a matter of perspective and just...

Usually this is going to apply to the Bible. They are not talking about infants.....someone that could not talk due to illness. Find this discussion in the Bible. The concept of the universal Church was before Constantine.....as far as an organized Church, that could exist out in the open...

I understand Christian history. You have so many heresies running around. There is not a lot of discussion about infant baptism and it fails common sense. Believing in Christ is a personal choice, Not the choice of your parents. So it is like the people that say baptism is not required or...

This maybe true but just for giggles.....describe what a non-water baptism looks like.

I will disagree on a few point here.....but I am not going to call you a liar....Turd Head. It is a fact that not all agreed with infant Baptism. Tertullian is the earliest to reference to the practice of infant baptism. He advised against it. The Apostolic Tradition’s description of the...

Cyprian of Carthage “[When] they receive also the baptism of the Church . . . then finally can they be fully sanctified and be the sons of God . . . since it is written, ‘Except a man be born again of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God’” (Letters 71[72]:1 [A.D...

The story of Baptism Not addressing the Cessationist branch of Protestantism. Which beliefs vary as to the cessation of miracles after the biblical era….No miracles associated with Baptism, Communion, or God answering prayers, healings, and tongues. Not going to waste my time. The Jews and the...

It is a sin to separate what people think are the Ten Commandments. If you want to be Jew be a Jew. They are accepting applications.

Define council? It is called the first Christian council. Does history normally go as planned? I am not sure if there were enough people there to call it a council. But either way apparently they decided that a judgement needed to be made and a proclamation sent the churches. This was done by...

Thank you.

Good thread! I have read through it, not that I have not missed anything. Good exchange of ideas and personal beliefs on various topics.. But I need to offer some corrections.....I am going to focus on the non-Baptism topics first. Christians never had a Bible....until the 16th century...
