Well we can go over the wars and battles and conflicts and inquisitions and witch hunts....but I have been saying all along that it was not the bishops that suited up for battle. It was always the Empire or the Kingdoms that they were associated with. The Catholics would rule a group as heretics...

You do not know history much....right. You need to dive into that. Learn a little history about the changes Emperor Constantine made to the empire to accommodate Christianity and the wars it fought to protect them and the battles with the heretics....Bishops did not mount horses with swords to...

Does tons of history books count? Constantine was the Emperor of Rome.....Rome was the seat of the Roman Catholic Church. Without Constantine that Church had no power and no protection. As long as the Roman Empire and the Holy Roman Empire existed Emperors excised authority over the Catholic...

First off do not put me in the category of "critics of the Catholics." But you are saying a lot of things that are not true. for instance.... "In these main points the Catholic Church is today what she has always been." This is not true. The Modern Catholic Church is better than it has ever...

Wrong again. The false history is in the lapse of the Catholic Church, they have been trying to rewrite history for quite awhile. Again no Bishops riding out to enforce their doctrines. Rome killed people that tried to claim authority in the Roman Empire, only one authority was tolerated. The...

I guess I disagree with most of what you have written The Roman Catholic Church....Gee what does that mean? LOL Its present canon law requires that an ecumenical council be convoked and presided over, either personally or through a delegate, by the Pope, who is also to decide the agenda; but...

"But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security." Land of the free....the...

LOL You are so funny. I understand how important it is to the Catholics to see Peter as the first official Pope.....Pope Peter. Sorry the term nor the office existed during Peter's life. Pope as a religious office does not occur until the 4th century. Pope Siricius being the first to occupy...

True about Antioch And was Cornelius a one time event due to circumstances or is this a hint to Christ's ministry in the background....I am on the side of He was running a secret ministry.....Some Christians do not like secrets.....But Christ was not concerned with them.....He would heal people...

Good history lesson. I agree with everything except.....This is who Protestants have chosen to follow instead of Christ’s Church, on whom He bestowed supreme earthly Authority (Matt. 16:18-19, Matt. 18:15-18, Luke 10:16, John 16:12-15, John 20:21-23). There is a little more detail....important...

Anti-Catholic rhetoric is usually just ignorance shinning in the purist sense of the word. Not stupidity....entirely.....but lack of knowledge. The reality of it is that the Catholic Church "is what it is" today. I spend most of my time in Protestant churches of several denominations I also...

It depends. Some see the one God formula as an invention because it does not agree with the scriptures. Like I said I have over a hundred scriptural reasons that indicate that the one God formula is false. Any why discussion of the Trinity are not welcome on this forum so we have to be careful...

Entrance what? The word entrance does not appear in John or Romans.

Heaven has a backdoor? Never planned on going to heaven before I died. Your parents may spank you.....Christ has the option of eternal fiery punishment.

The scriptures speak for themselves the words of man mean nothing. Doctrines have no authority. Actually my point is that you cannot but God in a box and heresy is not a scriptural definitive term and like I said it is objective being defined by the perspective of any denomination. And all...

This can be best described as wrong thinking. Did Christ have to offer himself up for our sins to be the Son of God? Did Christ have to do good for others to be the Messiah? God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son....did He have to do that to be God? No! They did that because...

First off I always call for unity between Christians. Yeshua both Divine and human.....I personally would not disagree.....still a discussion. Yeshua did not specifically say he was both God and human, not that it was not implied. The general concept is fine, but the exact composition of God is...

@amigo de christo @BreadOfLife LOL Ya know if I did not find some humor in all this it would definitely drive me nutz. This is one of many reasons why there is no one true church. Two good Christians arguing over false beliefs. Multiply that by 2000 years and millions of millions of people. No...

What is the one true church? The title. It is often asked, “What is the right denomination?” There are hundreds, if not thousands of denominations all claiming to be this one true church, but does God recognize any of these as His representative on earth? This subject should be approached...

Is there one true church? Not that I know of and I have traveled the world and have been formally educated on the matter. For that reason and others I fellowship with several different denominations.... Why are there no true churches....denominations? Several reasons.....and it is...
