    John Calvin and Calvinism.

Well, reformed... I guess that makes it so.

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

I'm a little confused by your post. Could you post the actual wording?? (of your link) THIS is what I get from the letter of Ignatius to the Magnesians: 8 Do not be led astray by wrong views or by outmoded tales that count for nothing. For if we still go on observing Judaism, we admit we...

    John Calvin and Calvinism.

See reformed... your reply is why I find it so difficult to speak to Calvinists. If you so desire, you could respond to my post no. 436 to the other poster. No, I'm not crazy. Are you? Please explain, under the calvinist paradigm, how a person gets to go either to heaven or to hell. Thanks...

    John Calvin and Calvinism.

Hi PS, Do you suppose we could have a calm and slightly intelligent discussion about the reformed faith? I find this rather difficult to do, but it might be possible with you. Seems like most just want to prove their point...and that's OK as long as it doesn't go on forever. I'm just trying to...

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

So are you a guy? So are you circumcisesd? (no reply really necessary) I'm not one to argue page after page. I've made my case... I respect your position. HOWEVER, it still has not been explained how worshipping is a Moral Law. Just saying so, does not make it come true. And, yes, Sunday...

    John Calvin and Calvinism.

You're funny LL! A God that sends most of humanity to hell through no fault of their own is JUST? He judges us impartially? How do you figure that? He shows no favoritism? I can't even really respond to this post...sorry.

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

I respect your position and we probably agree on everything else. (of course it depends on what TYPE of baptist you are!) I'd just have to disagree regarding this antinomian thing. Worshipping on Sunday is a construct of the 20th century? Please see my post above, no. 886. The Christians were...

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

I don't doubt that you may know more than I do. But I don't know what you mean by Spiritual Law. As far as I know there are 3 Laws presented in the O.T. CEREMONIAL CIVIL MORAL The first commandments may be about God and how we are to behave toward Him... that is Moral. Worshipping, it seems...

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

I have to disagree wholeheartedly that Constantine changed the day or worship to Sunday. That is just not historical and requires no debating. Please see my previous post. Constantine was ruling in the 4th century. I will say that it does bother me that the Sabbath worship is one of the 10...

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

Hi, been busy a few days and can't remember if I replied to this. (this might be a repeat) Jesus obeyed all 10 commandments. I agree. But He also did things on the Sabbath that were forbidden, and, as He explained it... The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. IOW, as I understand...

    Prayer for Amadeus

We're in God's hands Amadeus. I've learned this and have come to accept it. I know you find your strength in Him and He does help us through everything. God bless you.

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

OK. I don't believe it has anything to do with eternal salvation, but many understand it as you do. The CC uses this passage as support for purgatory. Which it is not of course. Thanks for reading and commenting.

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

Jesus certainly observed the Sabbath. Paul might have been preaching on the Sabbath and/or collected monies on that day but I don't believe there's any verse in the N.T. that taught that he observed the Sabbath for ceremonial purposes. There are verses in the N.T. that speak of the FIRST day...

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

Do you know how to use the little, invisible arrow by the name of the poster? It takes you to the last post when the little "hand" shows up and you click on it. It's easier than going backwards...

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

Many make the point that they will barely be saved and use 1 Corinthians 3:15 as support. I don't believe, as many do not, that 1 Corinthians is speaking about US. If you would care to comment on my post, I'd appreciate it. It might make you see it in a new light... or it might not.

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

Spiritual laws? What's that? Anyway, it would fall under MORAL. Criminal law falls under CIVIL. Dietary laws fall under CEREMONIAL. Sacrifices falls under CEREMONIAL. Do you know about the different types of laws in the O.T.?

You never did answer my question regarding what JUSTICE means either... What does it mean that God is JUST?

You must stop telling me what I believe LL. It makes it very difficult to speak to you. How about answering my post instead?

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

1 Corinthians 3 Is it about our works or is it about ministry? Verse 4 talks about how some were saying they were followers of Paul or followers of Apollo. Verse 8 The one who plants and the one who waters are working together with the same purpose... and both will be rewarded for their hard...

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

I agree in that if we love...then we will naturally follow Jesus' two great commandments. As far as I could tell, anything we do that is good and pleasant and makes for a better Kingdom of God here on earth can be considered a work or good deed. The N.T. tells us that we are to do good deeds...
