    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

It's not agreeing with any website. I didn't learn theology through the web...there was no web. However, it is easy to look up topics and post them when I'm asked to. My words count for very little...but there are scholars and theologians that study the bible and know much more than we do. I...

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

    1. Did teaching stop/end when the Apostles died? 2. Here is a copy of my post no. 965: The Laws of the O.T. were Jewish, not Christian. The queston to Chabad would be pertaining to the Jewish Laws. I'm unable to find a list of the Laws. I used to have it. The following is the...

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

No problem QT. I don't think I'm at liberty. I don't base what I believe on just what I think is right. Most of Christianity worships on Sunday -- there must be a reason for this. I get scolded for reading the thoughts of the ECFs... but I also read what they believed about other matters that...

    HERESY?

This is what I'd like to know Pierac... What do you think the N.T. is about? Is it a fictional story? Why did Luke write what he did? Did the Angel Gabriel speak to Mary? Did the Holy Spirit really overshadow her? Did Jesus heal persons and forgive their sins? Is it all just a story? If so...

    HERESY?

Agreed. I'll go a step further and say that this was the beginning of the "family" that God wanted to create for Himself.

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

The above is referring to different sects...not the CC. Ambrose is speaking about fasting...not worshipping on any particular day. Some of the statements above do not help your case. Some of the statements are very young and not in keeping with the early church. I like what Augustine said...

I wasn't discussing Limited Atonement. So I'm not sure what your comment means...

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

I posted 3 links Enoch. I don't know what more to do. We'll just have to disagree on this one.

You're going to have to show me from scripture. If you don't post scripture, please don't reply to me. YOU think people cannot choose God on their own. See, we're getting nowhere. Here's why I believe we choose God freely: Deuteronomy 30:19 19I call heaven and earth to witness against you...

    HERESY?

Do you believe marriage, as an institution, began in the Garden? Some believe they are spiritually married and the institution of marriage is not important.

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

It's not indisputable QT. Jesus being the Lord of the Sabbath means He can do with it as He wishes. If the Sabbath was so important, the Apostles would not have allowed for it to be changed.

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

Does this mean that we are not obligated to observe the 7th day? It seems that way to me. Also, paul reiterated that we should not allow ourselves to be judged as to diet or feast day keeping.

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

Dad, I agree with what you've stated above. I'll also say that it's faith that has always saved a person and the atonement is what allows us into heaven since nothing impure will be allowed to enter. Jesus's atoning sacrifice is what allows everyone to be saved/worthy,,,past, present and...

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

Clement of Rome Ignatius of Antioch Justin Martyr Clement of Alexandria Polycarp Inenaeus and some more, up to 325AD The churches in Jerusalem, Antioch, Alexandria, Rome and Constantinople were the 5 big regions. They each had a Bishop, which was called a Pope, which was a term of endearment...

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

How is it indisputable? Some believe The Day of the Lord is when Jesus returns. Do you have some scripture?

    John Calvin and Calvinism.

My comment was that I don't understand how anyone could worship this reformed God. So what do I mean by that: The God that comes through to me and other non-reformed persons is a God that loves His creation (us), that has mercy and this is why He made a plan of escape for those who choose to...

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

Well, you said it: Some joined the COUNTERFEIT Christian movement. The ECFs that we read were not counterfeit. Who do you think was teaching the early Christians? Do you think they went to service on Sunday and someone read from the Bible? There was no bible. Are you sure as to who wrote the...

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

Everything important WAS written down...Did I say the opposite?? Otherwise it would be as you've stated. But the N.T. offers us clues... and the Didache mentions worshipping on the Day of the Lord, which would have been Sunday. The Didache was thought to have been written between about 90 and...

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

Yes, I do have trust in the Early Church Fathers. They were closer to Jesus than any modern day preacher that sometimes states doctrine that the ECFs did NOT believe. I trust them more. The CC was, in fact, the first church. Unfortunately it did not remain "pure" and in keeping with what the...
