I like this sentiment but find it untrue in that evil is not nil but an intent. A rock lacks good intent but is not evil. Evil is not the absence of intent. Evil is the intent to act against God's will. Although one can get an "A" even getting one wrong out of ten, Acting 9 of 9 milllion ways...

I cannot believe you are asking - and answering this question - repeatedly. This is because it is a matter of look up reference, not a substantive topic of discussion. Any good translation tells you this. Not sure why you are distracting the conversation with this but I refer you to APAK's answer.

Indeed, the more ambiguous the verse, the more they doctrinally invest in it. A verse says, O God and read into it what they want AS IF they don't know it is an abbreviation for "OF" God.

I believe your question was directed to @Peterlag, not me. If you want my answer, check out post #470.

LOL? There's that mocking again. Russia is reacting to provocation.

Evidently not. Being a peace maker is an opportunity for NATO. Self defense is the burden Russia has in the face of NATO agression and expansion. Hence, all the military hardware shipped to Russia's border in the war. I do not think it is right to provoke conflict. Every post you make shows you...

Yes. Only NATO now plays the role of Germany then. Sure, the specifics are different but expansion/agression is the same.

Semantics. No answer to my repeated question of how you justify peace. Sad, really.

Good God woman! You don’t know the difference between defense and aggression? Too bad you cannot answer what justifies peace.

I'm with you, sister. The nastiness among followers of Christ over manmade doctrine ranks supreme among reasons people are repulsed. He said by our love the world will know us. Yea, about that! Far better to be a Jehovah Witness than an Adverse Witness. A hostile witness, also known as an...

I spit my Pepsi all over the screen when I read that!

Well said! That's the problem with those who adhere to literal translations, on top of the fact that the Bible is a highly figurative book. Valid interpretation is contextual. For the sake of brevity, I often take words out of context while still applying it correctly, Examples include "be all...

In general, no. God's word must be understood by the Spirit. So, you should read the translation you like to read the most. If you want to get into a esoteric analysis of what does the 3rd word of the 8th verse of the 11th chapter say, then yea, it matters. I generally prefer thought...

American strategic diplomacy is about as brilliant as our enemy can imagine.

It's primarily a Spiritual battle. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12

Iran has been a problem since the Shah was deposed, ~45 years. Republicans and Demon-rats besides Biden have been in power through the years. My answer is the Deep State does not want peace. They want to play both sides of conflicts, benefitting from the Industrial Military complex. State...

Extreme Eisegesis. Jesus is not even referred to in John 1:3.

I am correct. Thanks for asking. :vgood:

Why do you suppose that action is not taken?

Yea, let's repeal Genesis 1:28. And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
