    Three (3) Advents?

Not because of where Jesus was going, but because of where Nicodemus was coming from (as are we all).

    ''Keep'

This is like the [opposite] use of the word "sin", an archery term meaning "miss the mark." All things of God have their meaning in the timeless "I am" nature of "keep", while the variables are all relative to time.

    Three (3) Advents?

That is exactly right. That was the point of the conversation and the time of Jesus' coming, that "if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also." Which of course is with the Father...whom is not flesh and blood or...

    Three (3) Advents?

You depart from the word believing what you want to believe, to question whether or not the "bones" are included in the "dust" which are "burned up." This you do because you do not understand that "the dry bones" is used in parable, and are a mere vision of what Israel would experience which...

    Stumbling Block verses

Indeed, these things are representational of spiritual things on high, just as Jesus referred to Himself as the Manna come down from heaven. It is important to remember that God himself has confounded all language (at Babel), and that parables are His demonstrated chosen method of communication.

    Stumbling Block verses

I think we see a ton of this going on right here on the forum, I mean unintended conflict and disagreements by confessing "Christians." Too bad it even gets bitter.

    Stumbling Block verses

I am getting ready to leave on a trip, sorry if I don't get to follow along, we'll see. Anyway, I love the OP--so true! But, I don't know how good an example the blood issue is (pun unintended). :) It is good to understand it, and you have done a great job in explaining; but I don't see death...

    Three (3) Advents?

I am getting ready to take a trip, so I will not be able to go on and on. But you have made a religion out of your own interpretation, disregarding the whole counsel of God, which I continue to name and you continue to disregard. These things you cannot reconcile with your interpretation...

    Three (3) Advents?

That is not what it/he says... Paul does not at all say that "a body resurrected is powered by the Spirit." That is just you acting on the desires of the flesh. On the contrary, Paul says, "And what you sow, you do not sow that body that shall be." And "that our old man was crucified with Him...

    Three (3) Advents?

No... John 3:6 "That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit (God) is spirit." ...and now I am repeating myself.
  11. ScottA

    Three (3) Advents?

That is the flesh talking. But, No..."The last enemy that is destroyed is death", which is the first resurrection. But that is not Jesus' ascension (entrance into the kingdom). Thus, that does not define His coming. It defines His power over life and death, heaven and earth. Nonetheless, all...

    Three (3) Advents?

The common reference to the Spirit in scripture prior to Jesus sending Him at Pentecost, was that the spirit "moved" or "came upon" or "bound" or "entered into." But the matter is made clear and finished with John saying "the Holy Spirit was not yet given." You can stop guessing. And you can...

    Three (3) Advents?

Ah...you are mixing or dividing the Spirit, making two spiritual advents of one, which Spirit cannot be divided. The point of confusion is the "every eye shall see him" passage, which is simply not understood. The error comes from not understanding what John referred to, saying "when He is...

    Three (3) Advents?

Good point! The use of the word "poured" is significant, signifying the difference between "the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament." Genesis 1:7 One being liquid and the other spirit.
  15. ScottA

    Three (3) Advents?

I have explained enough. Now you are mixing in other elements that do not pertain to being "born of water and the spirit." That passage is not about being born again, it is about "witness."
  16. ScottA

    Three (3) Advents?

Then you need to read more: John 7:39 "But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified." As for Ezekiel, where do you read that "he could move like the wind?" No, he was not "born...

    Three (3) Advents?

I can't believe I am having to explain... It should be obvious that it was obvious to Jesus that Nicodemus had already been born of water because he was standing right in front of Him. So, with that being obvious, Jesus told him he must also be born again of the spirit. "Again", meaning that he...

    Three (3) Advents?

Jesus specifically said it was a "vision": 9 Now as they came down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying, “Tell the vision to no one until the Son of Man is risen from the dead.”
  19. ScottA

    Three (3) Advents?

You must only be reading half of the passage. Water was simply a visual of what was unseen of the Spirit, an object of example. In that particular example, it was even made visible to John, for a witness of the actual truth.

    Three (3) Advents?

And you need to ask for understanding of what is written there. The flesh is not glorified, but is replaced: "That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit." John 3:6
