Wha? I have to read this again, but must go. Can't seem to leave! later.

Teresa of Avila and Watering the Garden

Agreed. Very good explanation. Justification is immediate when we become born again. Sanctification is an on-going process for our entire lives. Glorification comes after death.

What displeases the Lord? Why are you here TO TEACH, if you believe we are NOT TO TRUST MAN. Are you not a man? Are YOU not indoctrinated? Maybe YOU have pride and arrogance,,, thinking you could come here to teach others. Have you taught our faith? I have. I think I've been a Christian longer...

Teresa of Avila and Watering the Garden

We're all indoctrinated one way or the other. Luckily for us, doctrine does not save us by Jesus does, if we follow Him. I probably agree with you regarding this topic with WaitingforHim... Maybe one day he'll agree too.... It's a journey.

LOL You're arguing dogmatics! Are you also blind?

Teresa of Avila and Watering the Garden

I've lost you. But I have to leave now. Do you need scripture to show the interchangeability of justification and sanctification? Easy to do. How did Calvin get his view from the truth? I don't find calvinism to be the truth. How is it POSSIBLE for me, or any Christian, not to be able to...

Teresa of Avila and Watering the Garden

Of course I agree that with true repentance and regeneration come a new conscience. This is what I said. And I also believe if we are truly born again of God,,,we ARE IN CHRIST. And where do we go? I met Jesus first. Then I sought a church. Left the CC, entered a denominational Protestant...

Teresa of Avila and Watering the Garden

You're sounding like a calvinist. (by saying that GOD chooses who will be justified). That's the same as saying that God chooses who will be saved. I am right with God. That's pride? Can I not know if I'm saved or not? HOW DO YOU know you're saved? If you don't know ,,, how do you have joy...

Teresa of Avila and Watering the Garden

The words Justified and Sanctified were used interchangeably in the N.T. They are NOW understood and that is how we are to use the two terms. Otherwise, scripture will conflict itself and there will be confusion.

Teresa of Avila and Watering the Garden

Gosh I hate when persons post scripture with no explanation. Works do not save us. Even the CC teaches this. Ephesians 2:8 and Galatians 2:16 is accepted by the CC and it also teaches that we are saved by faith alone. Sanctification is a different story... then I agree with what you've...

Teresa of Avila and Watering the Garden

Why do you tell me I'm indoctrinated? You're indoctrinated too. What you BELIEVE IS YOUR DOCTRINE. I had to leave a church. I had to study both Catholic doctrine and Protestant doctrine...I am the least here to be indoctrinated into any belief. Of course, the problem is we all think WE'RE...

Teresa of Avila and Watering the Garden

OK. But what do you mean by this: we can do good works from our own consciences...unto righteousness. What does UNTO RIGHTEOUSNESS mean? Are you saying we could work our way TO salvation? Or are you saying we have to do good works AFTER salvation to continue being right with God?
  13. GodsGrace

Teresa of Avila and Watering the Garden

Amen to that. I'm not saying we shouldn't do good deeds,,,,but they do not save us.
  14. GodsGrace

Teresa of Avila and Watering the Garden

See what I mean? In ONE VERSE in all the N.T. it states that we are not justified by faith alone but by works. Sometimes the word justified was misused for sanctified. This is because the Apostles had not defined all the words yet. This is why theologians are necessary,,,because they studied...

Teresa of Avila and Watering the Garden

@Episkopos will answer for himself... But you're right. Scripture does NOT support this. We are justified by faith alone...Ephesians 2:8 BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH.
  16. GodsGrace

Teresa of Avila and Watering the Garden

Of course. It means you listen, and then you look to scripture to make sure it's correct. What else could it mean??
  17. GodsGrace

Teresa of Avila and Watering the Garden

I've always agreed with your statements, not that I read all of them. Sometimes it's word that cause a problem for how we understand them, or what we understand them to mean. As you've stated, being declared JUSTIFIED is to be declared RIGHT WITH GOD. When you speak of WORKS...then we've moved...

Since you don't like learning from mere man,,, you should have looked it up yourself.

There's a Greek scholar on this very forum... Ask HIM re Greek words.... Just a suggestion, which you probably don't want.
