Divorcement? dead to the Law by the body of Christ?

I didn't say that all of the bible, or even the O.T. is only for the Jews. What I posted concerns Romans chapters 9 to 11. Of course the word if for everyone.... You continue to understand those chapters in your own way,,,as I can tell from your statements on the vessels. The vessels spoken of...

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

For @Giuliano too This is the first time I ever read a thread page after page. I ALSO was having a lot of fun. Basically, BoL does not read, or pay attention to posts. He's just ready for the attach and doesn't really reply properly. He either reads stuff INTO a post or takes ideas out of it...

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

Oh for goodness sake. DID I SAY DIVORCE MAKE ONE INELLIGIBLE FOR COMMUNION? NO! HOWEVER, THERE ARE CIRCUMSTANCES WHEN IT DOES... FOR INSTANCE IF THE PERSON DIVORCED IN ENGAGING IN FORNICATION. must I spell it out for you? AND, BTW, being remarried, according to the CC, IS FORNICATION.

    Why do we need priests?

They were both made in the image of God. When a baby is born, HE will be made in the image of God because of the parents... The question here, originally, was WHO was created first. The answer is ADAM. Eve could have never been created and stayed in his side ..... but God said it was not good...

    Why do we need priests?

I was going to speak about the Council of Trent. This was indeed when it was declared from Rome that priests were to be present at weddings. Before that, many were getting married without a priest and so it wasn't "official" and what was happening is what you were saying in a different post...

Divorcement? dead to the Law by the body of Christ?

Great post. I sure hope @VictoryinJesus sees this. Thanks for such a good reply....

    Why do we need priests?

I never heard that before. What are you getting at? It means two people will mesh and work as one. It's like taking two different things and making them into one that will work together. A coat comes to mind. It's wool on the outside and silk on the inside. It has an outside part and an inside...

    Why do we need priests?

Actually, Adam was created first, and then Eve. Genesis 2:18 The above just refers to the fact that there is a male and female.

Divorcement? dead to the Law by the body of Christ?

I didn't mention the law... If by the law you mean the 613 (and more) rules in the Torah.... Then I do not agree with you. God did NOT establish some of those rules. I'm not listing them...you've read the Torah, I assume. You can figure out for yourself if some of those rules are from God.

    Why do we need priests?

This is also for @Giuliano Did you know that in the CC, which does happen to be the first church, when there is a wedding ceremony, the two persons are establishing the relationship between themselves...God is acting as a witness. CCC no. 1623 1623 According to Latin tradition, the spouses as...

Divorcement? dead to the Law by the body of Christ?

The links did NOT help the other member who is still talking about personal salvation. I guess it takes some time for this to sink in. I sometimes whish those 3 chapters of Romans (9, 10, 11) were a separate book. Do they even belong there?? I don't think so...this makes for much confusion.

Divorcement? dead to the Law by the body of Christ?

All you've said is good,,, but it does not detract from the fact that Romans chapters 9 to 11 does not address personal salvation but the salvation of the Jews as a nation.

Divorcement? dead to the Law by the body of Christ?

It's your right...but you sure do have a lot of explaining to do!

Divorcement? dead to the Law by the body of Christ?

I'm going to post some links...I'm no expert on Romans 9 to 11, but it deals with the state of Israel and the Jews and the plans God had and has for them...  Romans 9 - Expository Comments On Romans 9-11 Romans 9-11: A New View of the Doctrine of Election

    Why do we need priests?

CP,,,,you kind of have to learn the difference between when someone is AGREEING with a statement or when someone is just explaining something. I was explaining what a priest is and how his work is honored before God...even though HE is not. I WAS NOT agreeing that a priest should NOT be...

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

No M,,,916 doesn't ring a bell. Should I be looking at that post? I also showed you that YOU are wrong. My friend C accepted that a doctrine had been changed right away. Mr friend L took some time and denied it...but she came around. Not to mention the priests I know....I live in a small...

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

I might have said arguing...sorry if I did. I'm here late at night and I'm not always very alert. I know many traditional catholics that are having a problem with this... I would have agreed with you 5 years ago... but not anymore. But,,,,peace!

Yeah. Maybe at some point I will. I can hardly wait.

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

NO!!!!!!! And what did we discuss for pages? Being divorced also makes one ineligible to receive IF,,,,IF,,,,IF? Go away BoL. I don't need you teaching me anything.

    Why do we need priests?

The above is also for @CovenantPromise ... It is correct of course and you gave a good example re the pastor. A priest is not just a title...it's a real office of God. When a priest baptizes a baby, that baby gets baptized even if the priest is in mortal sin. Ditto for any sacrament. If he...
