What is highly esteemed among men?

Isn't flesh just flesh...be they believers or not? By flesh I mean carnal reasoning and actions.

    Conversion after death

We have to ask ourselves...what is God looking for? Some will say that good character is meaningless...since God is a religious God and wants us to get His name right or He will throw us in the fires of hell. ?? Jesus called sinners to repentance, not they who were doing well already. Jesus...

    Conversion after death

Through Christ...not us deciding who Jesus died for.

    Conversion after death

We need to see the word "Christian" as a verb not just a noun. Is the person acting as Christ... Jer. 22:16 "He pled the cause of the afflicted and needy; Then it was well. Is not that what it means to know Me?" Declares the LORD.

    Show Me Lord, Please

"Windmillcharge, post: 435349, member: 7709"]We all have a direct connection to God, via the Spirit living in us. That is...a potential for direct connection... that is what needs to be learned. What we also have is God given intelligence with which to work out how we should serve. If we are...

    Conversion after death

The last statement you made is true. All who have no calling in Christ will go to the GWT judgment. But your premise is that there is no one written in the book of life on that day. Those whose names are written in the book of life on that day are the saved of the nations. Did Jesus only die...

    Show Me Lord, Please

We are to look to God....that is the purpose of the gospel...and not to men. He delights when we approach Him. But we must do so in a humble and teachable way. Experienced and learned Christians, as you say, can't seem to agree on anything. And even what they agree on is not really understood...

    Outer Darkness

I think we need to sort out where people after death go to before judgment and after judgment.

    Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit

    Calling what is holy....evil.

    Conversion after death

Good points. God is merciful and He will have mercy on whom He wills. He doesn't need our approval for such. He IS sovereign. God is Lord over all peoples. "For God so loved the world".

    Eternal Security

Of course there is free will. It is limited to the choices we are presented. We choose God every day...or not. We are fully responsible for the lives we lead. Otherwise there would be no judgment after this life.

    Outer Darkness

The bible speaks of an eternal darkness after judgment...as well.

    Jesus as a Stumblingstone

"APAK, post: 435141, member: 7755"]stunnedbygrace: It’s a relatively new Messianic concept. Actually Messianics hate any mention of Gentiles in regard to Israel. It goes like this: Ephraim being one of the lost 10 tribes of the Northern Kingdom, the major significant tribe, is now being...

    Jesus as a Stumblingstone

As a disciple we are not trying to be justified by our own acts...but neither can we leave them off. We are seeking to enter into God's level of righteousness. We are seeking to walk in His power. It is available to us by faith. Humility, however, is a moving target. We can't judge the...

    Outer Darkness

Hell is not a subject for this thread. But "our worm" is not us. Hell is the 2nd death....not the 2nd torment.

    Jesus as a Stumblingstone

There are 2 kinds of righteousness. Ours and God's. Our righteousness consists of....humility, clean hands and a pure heart. (To God, repentance is an act of righteousness.) An attitude of surrender and submission....and finally a loving disposition. Practicing hospitality and charity. God's...

    Jesus as a Stumblingstone

Read Hosea. The OT scriptures were the bible in the days of the early church. They are prophetic. Ephraim has many warnings...in this age. No need for warnings in the next age.
