Accolades for Angel Studios, The Chosen & Sound of Freedom

About a month back I went to the Cleveland Art Museum. It has the 5th largest endowment of any museum in the country. They have a Byzintine Christian section that is awe inspiring. Madonna with child is a common motif, with the stereotypical baby out of proportion in size, common among Byzantine...

Why do people desire for the end times to be for today? Serious Inquirey

Huh? I guess you fooled me twice. Shame on me. I thought you were asking a serious question; not desiring to pontificate using a question as a hook. Said differently, there realy is no relationship beween A and B. A. Why people desire for the end times to be for today. B. Not going along with...

Why do people desire for the end times to be for today? Serious Inquirey

Ever see the movie Green Mile? In it a divine man, wrongly accused of a double murder, wanted to be put to death. His reason is that he is tired of all the ugliness, the hate and the evil in the world. I ask how could anyone who loves justice NOT want Jesus to reign now?

Accolades for Angel Studios, The Chosen & Sound of Freedom

So as not to compete with the bashing of Christian art in another thread, I thought I'd start this thread praising the wonderful Christian art coming from Angel Studios. They have many projects underway but 2 are runaway hits, The Chosen and The Sound of Freedom. Both have my strongest...

The Chosen - Godly Truth or Dangerous Fiction?

You took the converse of what I wrote. There is no assumption in glorifying God through art. In light of Proverbs 26:4, I'll step out of this thread.

The Chosen - Godly Truth or Dangerous Fiction?

There. You again fail to state your case. Asking a question is not an argument. We've been through this before.

The Chosen - Godly Truth or Dangerous Fiction?

Not at all. It's a non-issue. It's like complaining that the movie about Mark Anthony and Cleopatra expanded beyond the known words of the character. Huh? Whoever said biographies must do this?

The Chosen - Godly Truth or Dangerous Fiction?

Right. No one goes to the carpet store, complaining they did not have fresh produce there.

The Chosen - Godly Truth or Dangerous Fiction?

How so? You keep saying such nonsense but cannot express in a single post what the danger ... wait for it ... not could be ... not might be ... IS. What IS the danger of glorifying God through art?

The Chosen - Godly Truth or Dangerous Fiction?

You obsess over this estimate. It is consistent with a show depicting events tangential to the text. I rather enjoy watching an episode, which starts off as a mystery. As the scene develops I figure out what verses the episode has taken a tangent from. For instance, the back story of the...

The Chosen - Godly Truth or Dangerous Fiction?

Do it if you feel called to do it. That's what's different about this show. It IS a fictional - but feasible Jesus. What you want has been done to death.

The Chosen - Godly Truth or Dangerous Fiction?

The show does not lampoon Jesus. It shows a human side of God's Anointed. One thing that turned me off from film depictions of Jesus, like Greatest Story Ever Told, is how they portrayed him as being so above it all, not really in touch with the suffering of ordinary people. Not only is this...

The Chosen - Godly Truth or Dangerous Fiction?

Yet, you cannot express in a single post, what the cost is you are alarmed about.

The Chosen - Godly Truth or Dangerous Fiction?

And there are millions of Christians who rave about the show. Keep appealing to majority.

The Chosen - Godly Truth or Dangerous Fiction?

The title of the show is not The Bible but The Chosen. The question was what does the title tell you what the show is about?

The Chosen - Godly Truth or Dangerous Fiction?

Pathetic. Telling me what to do now. Ever read James 4:11-12? Although I am not a crusader, like you, I still express myself here on these boards to you. Regarding other people who 'raised red flag;' do you suppose there are more fans or critics of the show? Appeal to Majority.

The Chosen - Godly Truth or Dangerous Fiction?

So what? You keep inventing ways to castigate Christians doing the work God has called them to do. I’ve already told you several times what The Chosen is about. What does the title suggest?

The Chosen - Godly Truth or Dangerous Fiction?

You have lost your mind. I’m sorry to say. You are holding people to a false standard AS IF Christians cannot participate in modern society, art, culture, technology, etc. What a legalist you have revealed yourself to be.

The Chosen - Godly Truth or Dangerous Fiction?

That’s wonderful! But others are not so limited. Let me spoon feed you. The Chosen is not about the Bible. Therefore, you are holding it to a false standard.

The Chosen - Godly Truth or Dangerous Fiction?

Sometimes. When he told his mother about being gone for days days when he was 12 was funny. Telling his mother ‘it is not my time’ but still being the superhero in turning water into wine made me laugh. Telling Peter to cast the net on the other side of the boat after he fished all night...
