I must really disagree... that is if anyone's ultimate salvation is dependent on them be a "Christian". I believe that there are people on this forum who in spite of disagreeing with one another on various things including this one, lead lives carefully striving to always be committed and...

The rules and regulations have always been full of holes and as a whole getting worse. Compared to the 613 laws God gave to Moses, our laws are a super complex mess that only a good specialized attorney could wade through the small part in which he specialized to obtain good results. That of...

Understood all too well. The problem with this has always been to help those really in need who could not help their condition while keeping the ones who would irresponsibly take advantage of the free goodies offered. If every person in our society... or if only all those claiming to be...

Thank you for your response. I now understand where you apparently are on the SDA but being not more than superficially aware of their practices and beliefs myself other than their Saturday-Sabbath difference... without an in depth study on each point, I could not easily confirm what you are...

Over my many years working in Social Security field offices I soon learned quickly to know by sight some of our biggest moochers, who often knew loopholes well enough to get as much as possible from Uncle Sam with as little return from themselves as possible. Unfortunately the laws and...

What was meant by these words penned by Paul? "For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat." II Thess 3:10

Consider whether Jesus chose to side with the Romans or the Sanhedrin leadership?

And then will there be anything or anyone left, but God and..? I guess I am thinking of the "professor" part of most of us. What is the difference between a man who has lots of answers and a man with only lots of questions? God may see the difference, but do any of us? Does this relate back to...

To help me understand, how exactly do you define a 'cult'? Thank you for your consideration!

I did not leave Catholicism because I saw any error in doctrine or ritual. On the contrary in the place where I grew up a Catholic I never saw such errors... and at the time I really did not know anything although I did not know even that. I saw people making mistakes certainly. I have never...

Vivacious Viola from Victoria pursues victory!

There is always going to be someone here on this forum, or in the marketplace, or in the church house while we are still among carnal men someone, who is going to disagree and argue with us. Jesus was always right and He had the Word always from God and they called him a devil and rebuked him...

Praying for you my friend that whether you go or stay you lean heavily on God. I do hope with others here that you will stay. This place is not perfect, but there are some good things found here from time to time. Give God the glory!

The truth is! What a person say it is matters to him and to God. If another person hears someone who speaks in error, it will be no problem for the hearer, who is hungering and thirsting after God's righteousness. [Matt 5:6] God will know if he is and react accordingly. The Bible can the...

Well we certainly have the organized or unorganized churches today in the thousands which according to them are rooted in the Bible yet they disagree sharply on things which may be important. How can that be? Maybe it is easier to see these differences on a forum like this where members who...

Or would not perhaps a better question be how do we know the difference between the Word of God and empty written words? "And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee...

That of the Holy Spirit as opposed to some other spirit!

Not something new and different, but clarification by the Holy Spirit to open hearts of what the Truth is!

And so now 30 or is it 40 thousand different groups formed from the Bible? What is with that?
