"And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved? And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible." Mark 10:26-27 For God it is possible, but how does one get God to do the work for...

Without the correct foundation the works of gold, silver, wood, hay or stubble are indeed meaningless to God: "For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ." I Cor 3:11 "Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a...

In the end he cannot serve both, but along the way he certainly tries, swinging to and fro... to God's side and then back to his own side. This is that double mindedness about which James also writes. If one stays on the road this way indefinitely he will reach the end of the road in the middle...

@My Dreams You have been given what sounds like good advice. I will also be praying for you and that pastor.

@My Dreams Praying that God will keep you in this time of difficulty!

@lforrest Praying for the health of Jordan Peterson and wife.

"The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head." Matt 8:20 What I believe is that Jesus is, or is to be, the Head of the whole Body of Christ. He was speaking about that. Now the Head is ready... that is Jesus is ready, but his...

To be Christ-like, do we not need to hear as He heard and see as He saw and speak as He spoke? Of course, this is not made in reference to the carnal vision, hearing and speech of men eyes. The answer is in Jesus' answer as to why He used parables: Look to the scriptures, which describe the...

Amen, sister! Give God the glory!

Consider these verses about Elisha and his servant: "And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do? And he answered, Fear not: for they...

Many thanks to everyone for their thoughts and prayers!

My wife told me yesterday with tears in her eyes, that deaths sometimes seem to come in threes. I almost wish she had not said that, but what happens happens. All we can do is stay always on God's side. In this very computer I have my own collection of obituaries. I started it a few years ago...

People please Him by getting into His name but with a mixed message how far can a person get. Coming with nothing at all but faith could be a better way into His name...or? Here something I saved from some forum in 2016. It may have posted it here...but I really don't remember... "And...

For you and for him and for the other guy I may need to cite a verse but for me when I hear and recognize His voice, there is no problem: "To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. And when he putteth forth his own...

And I am not suggesting or supporting these things in particular. Rather I sometimes pose questions for consideration. The fact the some things are not specifically mentioned in written scriptures may makes some people at least ask why they are not there. When something not written is mentioned...

@My Dreams Praying for God to have His hand always on your situation!

Yes... what was it that happened with the first Adam? Was he not also without sin for a period of time? It may make it understandable why some might go the way that Apostle Paul suggested here... or not: "For I would that all men were even as I myself. But every man hath his proper gift of God...

Yes, Jesus spoke similar words about two different people. The Roman centurion perhaps had some knowledge of the ways and beliefs of the Jews from being around them, but the Naaman the Syrian lived in another place where there were no Levitical priests to read and explain the scriptures and...

No, I cannot give in to them. There are no churches now of my experience where I am not in some disaccord with where they are. Some of it is due honestly different understanding of scripture, but much of it, as you say, is due to traditionally held points of view. My wife was perhaps the best...
