Ah. I see what you mean. I know others that believe this. I believe the opposite. Jesus said we are the salt of the earth. Mathew 5:13 He said we are a light on a lamp stand, to give light to all. Mathew 5.15 All evil needs to succeed is for good to do nothing. Should we then sit back and...

Whoa! Romans for no. 2! Christian theology is in Romans, but it's the most difficult letter to explain. And how about chapters 9, 10 and 11? I think they should have been a separate letter...it's kind of in the middle of the rest of the book. The little letters are nice, Galatians, Ephesians...

You're fortunate to have a church. I owe you a ltr. Happy Sunday!

The point is that God is Republican. LOL The point is that I wonder how one could belong to a party that PROMOTES all those ideas on that list I made and still call themselves a Christian. Don't you believe that Christians should support their beliefs? How does one support their Christian...

You have to be nice to answer someone's questions? It seems like the correct thing to do... 1. Some here may not know that you're a calvinist and may not understand what is going on, so I mention this for their sakes.... Since God CHOSE YOU, you must admit that you are VERY lucky indeed...

I know catholic priests that believe the above. What I don't understand in your position is this... The bible speaks of eternity. If we have a soul, it is surely eternal. How would a soul become consumed if it's not something that can be felt? And what scripture verses do you use? The ones I...

Thanks E, This is the post I wanted to reply to, but it's late now. Marking for tomorrow....

The commandments given to Moses also served to show the Israelites how to return to living a civilized life. They had been slaves for so long, all they knew was how to survive. 400 or so years is a long time and many generations and all they knew was slavery. Romans says that if it were not...

Did you start a thead on righteousness? Could you please link it if you did, I think I remember seeing it. It's a very interesting subject matter and there is much to say about it and it deserves its own thread instead of getting into it here. Thanks.

I don't know A, he had some pretty odd ideas...pre or post Vat II! But, much as we debate here for whatever reason we're here, God accepts all who love Him and no matter what their doctrine is. Amen.

Same period as here. This is not a good sign. Maybe @"ByGrace" will get an answer to her email --- even by a family member.

@gadar perets whom I've known a long time and have much respect for, does not believe Jesus is God but the Son of God. He respects Jesus as the Messiah and Annointed one sent by God Father, but believe only God Father is to be worshipped. If he's right, we're all in trouble because we're...

I think he was catholic and as a catholic he had some funny ideas, but when I found out how old he is, I just tried not to argue anything with him. He just needed to be here for whatever reason. It would be nice to know what happens to the older folk who stop showing up...

Me too. You just reminded me of him. Could you look for that window that comes up that tells you the last time he was seen? I think it's a long time...maybe a couple of months.

But it's not personal sin Frank Lee is referring to. He's right. One cannot be a born again Christian and justify his being a Democrat. Just look at the platform of Dems: A woman's right to choose...abortion. Homosexual rights beyond OUR rights. SSM Persecution of Christians...I've recently...

Yes. But then we have the problem with the Sabbath. I'm not sure about what I believe concerning that. It IS one of the commandments and it seems to me that Jesus said they were not abolished... I'm just not sure either way. If we love, there will be more than the 10,,,but love covers all...

This thread is not for me. It's for discussion for others. I believe we're to obey all of the New Covenant commands. Which are all the commandments Jesus gave us when He was teaching... for instance, the beatitudes are commands... Mathew chapters 5 to 7. Mathew 5:3-10 were not SUGGESTIONS, this...

I agree! Except for this it was absolutely necessary because our English bibles use the world "hell" for DIFFERENT hebrew words and greek words: Gehenna, Sheoul, Hades...that's all I could think of right now.

I hate referring to the Greek. When I studied about the words meaning hell in the N.T., I learned that the right word is tartarus. But a rose by any other name....

Oh. You're here to teach me? LOL
