The School of the prophets: God's rules

Some good discussion here... I submit, that the Holy Spirit (our Helper in all things) has clarified that "the spirit of Christ is the spirit of prophecy." However, as such, Christ himself told us “Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword."...

    Is true Christianity a religion?

Unfortunately, "religion" is the word that most people use to describe all approaches to deity. Similarly, the erroneous word used to describe Christians...is "believer", while Christianity is the only "religion" that is NOT based on belief alone, but is founded upon an infrastructure of...

The Bible is more a record of those who "know", than those who "believe."

PUBLIC NOTICE: THIS TOPIC WAS ESTABLISHED TO OFFER ASSURANCE TO THOSE WHO BELIEVE BUT HAVE NOT SEEN (OR HEARD, OR HAD THE SKIES OPEN UP FOR THEM). JESUS MADE IT CLEAR THAT THOSE WHO BELIEVE BY FAITH ALONE, ARE ALL THE MORE BLESSED. BUT YOU SHOULD KNOW AND HAVE THE ASSURANCE THAT THERE ARE THOSE...

The Bible is more a record of those who "know", than those who "believe."

I will not call you a liar, as you have called me. But you either don't know how to read or something...'cause that statement is qualified with a BIG "if"...and then you completely ignore and deny the last part of the verse. We're done here.

The Bible is more a record of those who "know", than those who "believe."

Of course I was talking about the Holy Spirit...that is the difference I have been pointing to. Among believers, some have the Holy Spirit and some do not. Some know the truth of God via the Holy Spirit, and those who don't have the Holy Spirit do not. Some have that greater relation with God...

The Bible is more a record of those who "know", than those who "believe."

It is YOU who are putting these two scriptures together as if they were the same. They are not. Only in time. Meanwhile, God gives [different] gifts: "4 There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of...

Revelation to John and the end of the world

It is the providence of an Emperor to dictate his part of history, but the providence of God to dictate history as a whole. The book of Revelation states the overall scope of what it pertains to, as being: "the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which will...

    Fate vs. faith

Neither really provide a complete understanding. Both suggest a time component, which with God, there is not. So, then, the idea of either, is just that...an idea. The two words describe what it would all look like if you spread it all out on a timeline...which God has done for our benefit. But...

The Bible is more a record of those who "know", than those who "believe."

Again...you are reading into it. Paul is speaking of being 'sealed', as a future "guarantee", by the "same God" who "anointed" Paul. It's all there, you're just running it all together when you have no business doing so. Read the whole book...he is lovingly chastising those to whom he had...

Revelation to John and the end of the world

And what are your thoughts on that?
  11. ScottA

The Bible is more a record of those who "know", than those who "believe."

There you go again, reading into things what is not there. Paul did not say they were "anointed" but "sealed." He only said they were a party to their (Paul's) anointing. "Sealed" in this context, means they were "preserved" for a future time. A contradiction in terms. Not according to Christ...

    I am a Theistic Satanist.

All things are a manifestation of that which is on high. What you say of atheists and satanism is true. But the days of stoning have passed, we fight not against flesh and blood, but against powers and principalities in the heavenly realm. Even so, it is finished.

Revelation to John and the end of the world

There is no such thing as "prediction." That is not what prophecy is. Prophecy is the declaration of what is already written...already finished. That of course sounds incorrect to those who are last to know, last to hear/see the end. However, with God, whom is the creator of all things, there...

The Bible is more a record of those who "know", than those who "believe."

No... You are combining those whom God has separated for a time, clearly identifying them as different. You cannot redefine what God has defined...nor can you redefine the definition of each even by use of common language. You are not being honest. It does not say that "believers" "know", but...

The Bible is more a record of those who "know", than those who "believe."

That is an erroneous statement. Knowing and believing are two different things. Look it up. This too is an erroneous statement and not biblical. If that were true there would be no Israel, no prophets of old, no twelve apostles, no apostle Paul...but all would come to full revelation together...

The Bible is more a record of those who "know", than those who "believe."

Good points. The problem here, is those who "believe" themselves into a state of "thinking" they "know", and not considering that it may be different for different people, that some are shown and some must rely on faith alone. Both are blessed, but it is God who decides who has what experience...

The Bible is more a record of those who "know", than those who "believe."

If you want to start your own topic about he not seeing is actually seeing...or wrong is actually right, or down is actually up, or darkness is actually light - go for it. But that is not what this topic is about - it is about the fact that they are different, and that there are in fact those...

You contradict yourself...and Christ. You're done.

The Bible is more a record of those who "know", than those who "believe."

Wrong again. The fact that I understand this topic, does not mean this is about me. This has to do with the differences pointed out by Jesus in John 20:29, between those who have seen and those who have not seen. This is really simple...it's the difference between "thinking" and "knowing."...

The Bible is more a record of those who "know", than those who "believe."

I could tell you that is not true, but since you seem to have your own way of defining things... Explain, then, the difference between the two different peoples of whom Christ is speaking in this passage: John 20:29 Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed...
