    Built On The Wrong Apostle

Because YOU implied that I changed the subject to Mary's Perpetual virginity. Uhhh, no - Mary is the fulfillment - NOT the type. I have given you at least a half dozen examples f this. NT fulillments are ALWAYS more glorious and perfect than their OT types. This is without exception.

Oh, REALLY?? Rev. 14:14 These are those who did not DEFILE themselves with women, for they remained virgins. They follow the Lamb wherever he goes. They were purchased from among mankind and offered as firstfruits to God and the Lamb. This verse is talking about those who have consecrated...

Once Saved....always Saved - Results of Questionnaire.

The faith James is talking about is married to belief. That's why Luther called it "The Epistle of Straw" and wanted it removed from his German translation.

And NOWHERE in Scripture do we read that this gift cannot be thrown away. Precisely. Faith = Belief + obedience (works). HOWEVER, being flawed humans, we can turn our backs on it, as the Scriptures warn us . . . (Matt. 5:13, Matt. 7:21, Rom. 11:22, Heb. 10:26-27, 2 Peter 2:20-22, 2 Peter 3:17...

And you keep ignoring the fact that once the gift is received - it can be returned. EVERYBODY is invited to receive the gift of Redemption and be saved. EVERYBODY is also free to throw it away after having received it. That's what the BIBLE says . . .

    Built On The Wrong Apostle

I wasn't the one who brought up Mary's virginity. In post #221, Ac28 brought up this subject. I merely defended it. The whole reason for bringing up the Ark was when bbyrd ignorantly stated that Mary's Perpetual virginity was not important. I stated that IF he understood the type that was...

    Built On The Wrong Apostle

The Ark, being untouchable and not to be defiled by man was the foreshadowing of the Ark of the NEW Covenant (Mary), who was also not to be touched or defiled by man. Whereas the Ark was purified inside and out - Mary was also purified and conceived without sin (Luke 1:28).

    Assurance of salvation:

WHO said that this is the way to obtain salvation?
  9. BreadOfLife

    Built On The Wrong Apostle

This was about the Ark of the Covenant - NOT the Perpetual virginity . . . Once again, we have a communication breakdown. This was about the Ark of the Covenant - NOT the Perpetual virginity . . , Anyway - just a few verses later - David is dancing and leaping for joy before the Ark...

Once Saved....always Saved - Results of Questionnaire.

Salvation is granted to the faithful. Faith = belief + obedience (works). One without the other is worthless. Even the demons believe (James 2:19) and even the unbelievers do works (Matt. 7:21).

Only to the spiritually-blind. Nah - it couldn't be ANY clearer . . . OT - The Word was written by God on Tablets of Stone (Ex. 25:10) placed inside the Ark (Deut. 10:1) NT - The Word of God became Flesh (John 1) conceived inside Mary (Luke 2:38) Mary carried the Word of God. OT - "Who am I...

And you know this because . . .?
  13. BreadOfLife

    Built On The Wrong Apostle

It's NOT pointless. It is a fulfillment of an OT Type. WHY would you refer to the Word of God as "pointless"??
  14. BreadOfLife

    Built On The Wrong Apostle

The point is that there is FAR more evidence - Biblical and extrabiblical - that she did NOT have children than the idea that she DID. As a matter of fact - there is not ONE single extrabiblical, apocryphal or historical writing that makes this claim. Not ONE. WHY is that??
  15. BreadOfLife

NOT according to The Protoevangelium of James. It is explained that they usually married elderly widowers for protection. This would explain the many traditions that Joseph was much older than Mary - as in the Protoevangelium . . .
  16. BreadOfLife

    Built On The Wrong Apostle

NONSENSE. What about Sarah?? What about Hannah?? Not EVERY woman in Scripture had multiple children - so, why should Mary??
  17. BreadOfLife

    Built On The Wrong Apostle

No they're NOT. The idea that Mary had no intention of having marital relations because she was a consecrated Temple Virgin is based on a tradition that goes all the way back to the 1st century. The document, The Protoevangelium oif James makes this point very clear. It's funny - I've heard...

WHY I COULD NEVER CHOOSE TO BE A PROTESTANT. (one stupid thread title is as good as another)

The fact that Protestants rejected 7 Books and threw them out of their Bibles is not the issue. The issue here is that ALL of the Books in YOUR Bible were compiled and declared canonical by the Catholic Church. If the Catholic Church is such an "evil" entity - WHY would you accept its choices...

There are so MANY things wrong with what you've just said that it is difficult to know where to begin. Let's start with your first comments in RED. First of all - NOBODY is trying to make Mary into a "supergirl". In fact this comment of yours goes FAR in revealing how little you know of OT...

Uhhhh, no. The Trinity is a doctrinal and dogmatic position for ALL Christians - just as OSAS is for the Protestant. WRONG. The verse you quoted are conditional. We ARE saved, provided we remain in faith. Once we lose that - we LOSE salvation. Oh, by the way - NEITHER of them indicate that...
