Starting with the proper tool is the beginning when one undertakes a construction job. If you are a carpenter a hammer with nails is certainly to included and then the lumber to put together with the hammer and nails. In this case you, my friend, want to take the literal meaning of what is...

Unfamiliar with Luby's but many years ago a very good friend of mine used to say we should go to Joel's Place for some of that 'new wine': "And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish." Luke 5:37 "And it...

In baptism is not a person is to be immersed (with apologies to sprinklers) and kept under until all the dirt is gone that is until he is dead to anything opposed to God? This would be the death of the old man. So if the old man remains alive [what he calls life] while an very immature [baby]...

You ignored my explanation, which does explain why he was able to avoid sinning. You used unsupported tradition conclusions about 'sin nature' or Jesus being a 'sinless God-man'. Your presumptions, based on what you believe, change the meaning of the 'tempted' in the verse about Jesus being...

@bbyrd009 Jesus' will to live was the will of the flesh. Like in any of us there was an instinctive [proper usage?] desire or purpose to keep himself alive [physical life] and comfortable. Jesus showed us by example what God hopes for from each of us... to make our way equal to God's Way...

Even so! Therefore should we accept what comes through #1, your interpretation; or #2, mine or #3, God's when it comes to what is written in the scriptures? I will take choice #3 believing of course that mine agrees. But...let us allow God to decide whether either, you or I be right in this, or...

One day, hopefully, you will talk to God yourself instead continuing to parrot your own ideas and quoting even the scriptures in the spirit of your old man. The words you speak without the quickening of the Holy Spirit, even scriptures spoken verbatim, are dead nonetheless.

Yes, loving Jesus, the Truth, is that essential thing. How well are we able to love without knowing or understanding? How much does a natural baby love his mother before he is able to mouth or understand the words, 'I love you?

That is like a stuck needle, don't you know? We are to obey what we hear God say to us.

Different people do have different definitions [dictionary definitions are not so absolute unless you have one that covers every possibility] for their own reasons, but in order to communicate, we should either use the same definitions or be certain that each participant understand the other...

Even on the understanding of that verse [II Tim 2:15] some, [including me] disagree with the common understanding of so many believers. What you are saying is those specified things are essential for everyone: works, baptism and trinity. I am not with you on two of those, but I would not...

No...! I consume the dead Flesh and allow it to be quickened by the quickening Spirit. My disinterest in firearms was in place long before really starting to serve God. I did qualify with an M-14 while in the US Army, but that did not change my disinterest. I owned a bow once as a young man...

The knowing comes when the faith is finished. "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God." Heb 12:2

I have never in my 75 years owned a firearm however, a sword I have...When the Word is alive in me... "And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:" Eph 6:17 And coming out of my mouth: "Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight...

Study on my friend, but your way is not the way I was traveling. Your tangent moves away from my leading. Sorry...

Salvation does not come by Superman, nor by those who wrote the stories about him, nor by their intelligence, nor by your intelligence. Lean on your own brain if you will, but don't be surprised if you miss the Way to God in spite very careful planning and stockpiling of material food and goods...

It is God we are to obey. There is only one God and it is to Him we owe our obedience, not to you, nor to your interpretation of what is written in scripture. His sheep hear His voice and thus are able to understand and, yes, to obey without any human intercessor.

Each morning when we awake with our own keys in our hand, we need to turn them over to Him and never take them back as we move through the day until our eyes close one more time. It is called surrender!

What is in our heart? "For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect." Matt...

If you really believe this way, there is still a way out. It is called Love.
