The likeness of God on his throne

I totally agree. HOWEVER, Jesus does say that God is Spirit - and He was telling the truth.

Once Saved....always Saved - Results of Questionnaire.

I would disagree with you here. The good works of a wife for her husband absolutely glorify God in the holy union of Matrimony.

Once Saved....always Saved - Results of Questionnaire.

I agree. What I don't agree with is the idea we have no choice in the matter.

Once Saved....always Saved - Results of Questionnaire.

People have been predicting the demise of the Church for 2000 years. It has survived greater hurdles than this. Jesus guaranteed that the gate of Hell would NOT prevail against His Church (Matt. 16:18).

The likeness of God on his throne

MANIFESTATION is the operative word here. God cloaked Himself in flesh to visit Abraham. God is SPIRIT (John 4:24) and spirit does NOT have flesh and bones (Luke 24:39).

Once Saved....always Saved - Results of Questionnaire.

You're trying to get me to say that we are saved by our works - which I won't. "Obedience" means just what you think it means: DOING the will of the Father (Matt. 7:21). Obedience keeps us in God's grace. Just because we come to belief and are baptized and born again does NOT mean that we can...

Once Saved....always Saved - Results of Questionnaire.

Exactly - and we cannot abdicate OUR role in our salvation and still expect to be saved.

Once Saved....always Saved - Results of Questionnaire.

The important thing to remember is that it doesn't matter if ALL of the Bishops and priests don't believe that it's a sacrifice. It doesn't "cease" being a sacrifice based on the faithlessness of some within the Church.
  9. BreadOfLife

Once Saved....always Saved - Results of Questionnaire.

Because I am born again, I have a moral certitude that I will be saved - IF I endure in faith. NOBODY has a guarantee just because they are born again.
  10. BreadOfLife

Once Saved....always Saved - Results of Questionnaire.

That is absolutely untrue. Our obedience requires OUR cooperation (Matt. 5:13, Matt. 7:21, Rom. 11:22, Heb. 10:26-27, 2 Peter 2:20-22, 2 Peter 3:17, Rev. 3:5, Rev. 22:19). We ALWAYS have the option do sin and fall away. Just because Jesus died for us and redeemed us does NOT mean that we can...

The likeness of God on his throne

God "appeared" to people i the OT as a "Theophany". A Theophany is a visible manifestation of God. The Burning Bush, the Visitors who came to Abraham (Gen 18), the visions of Isaiah and Ezekiel, the Pillar of fire in the desert - these are ALL Theophanies.

The likeness of God on his throne

Nobody is "required" to partake in the Eucharist every time they go to Mass. Nobody is"required" to partake of BOTH species. Not sure why you're unable to absorb this as I have explained it several times already.

The likeness of God on his throne

And you can cling to this all you want but you'll still be wrong.
  14. BreadOfLife

The likeness of God on his throne

He isn't talking about physicality. The Son had not yet been incarnated. Man is the most different from ALL of the other flora and fauna because we have a free will and the ability to reason. THIS is what God was talking about in Gen. 1:26.
  15. BreadOfLife

The likeness of God on his throne

Correct - SORT of. John 5:37 isn't describing a Theophany - it is using an anthropomorphism.
  16. BreadOfLife

Once Saved....always Saved - Results of Questionnaire.

Not at ALL. We still stumble but we strive to be obedient. If we don't strive to be obedient - then we are in rebellion.
  17. BreadOfLife

Once Saved....always Saved - Results of Questionnaire.

You're not listening. It's NOT just about works. It's about enduring faith. Works are an essential ingredient of faith - but alone, they are not faith. Let me put it this way OBEDIENCE is enduring faith. Unless we remain obedient, we cannot hope to gain salvation.

    Communion vs Holy Communion

Yes, but not literally muscle and tissue. He is present in the Eucharist, body blood, soul and divinity - but in a SACRAMENTAL way under that "accidents" of bread and wine. We are consuming the risen Christ. His Body was NOT the same as our bodies after the Resurrection as it had supernatural...

    Communion vs Holy Communion

The Church established by Jesus Christ and His Apostles came to be known as "The Catholic Church" by the end of the FIRST century. We know this by the writings of Ignatius, Bishop of Antioch who was a student of the Apostle John. He wrote his Letter to the Smyrnaeans while John was presumably...
