When the Bible says, "Dead", what does it mean?

The Bible is a highly figurative book. We speak this way today, referring to death metaphorically. Example: ‘He is dead to me.’ The ‘to me’ context alerts us to the metaphorical nature of the statement. Parallel to this is the Bible using the word sleep metaphorically as death. Your basic...

    A Curious Question For Non-Trinitarians

Appeal to Ignorance. You are using what Jesus did NOT say - the absence of evidence as evidence. “I am” is not an identification of deity nor what God actually said to Moses. That you have to refer to such weak references to violate the Sh’ma, 1C and explicit text that only the Father is God...

    A Curious Question For Non-Trinitarians

Christophany, what are you doing in this thread? It is a question for those who have heard all the arguments for the trinity and rejected them. Your, ‘next’ signature reveals a haughty heart.

    A Curious Question For Non-Trinitarians

We came from God. Does that make us God?

Which translation do you think is the best English translation?

No but I have plent of reasons to question dubious interpretations that contradict explicit text. What I quoted is proof text that God lies and commands lies. What you quoted but overlooked is based on a hope. You can’t differentiate between allowing, commanding and doing the act yourself?

Which translation do you think is the best English translation?

1 Kings 22:19–23 Speaks for itself. Are you denying God commanded a Spirit to lie to 400 prophets?

    A Curious Question For Non-Trinitarians

I must have not been clear. There is no doubt from Scripture that Jesus is the Son of God. The point was about the ‘son ship. I took that term to be synonymous with God head. Was that incorrect?

Believing in yourself means having the courage to stand on your own two feet

You cannot believe existence depends on you being consciously aware of it. Are you seriously claiming existence begins and end with your consciousness?

The Insanity of the "right" to have guns!

Thank you. Sadly @Bible Highlighter does not have eyes to see.

    A Curious Question For Non-Trinitarians

There is no such verse. If there were, you would have already referenced it. Not here, Jesus does not say he is God incarnate or ever teach the trinity. Instead, this sentence juxtaposes Jesus with another being, our Father, the only being explicitly and repeatedly identified in Scripture as...

Believing in yourself means having the courage to stand on your own two feet

Not being consciously aware of reality does not change reality. It is not time that changes but your conscious awareness of time changing.

    A Curious Question For Non-Trinitarians

No. Only the nature of God. If you read Deut 18:15-18, you will see God's words, not God, was put into a man among the people (God's word put in flesh). Sad that you must resort to just imposing your doctrine onto vague text while ignoring explicit text. YHWH alone is God, and Yeshua is his...

Not an answer to my question. My, my how defensive you are.

The Insanity of the "right" to have guns!

You take others not having the same beliefs as you an insult. @Qoheleth and I cannot be the 1st ones to give you the feedback that you take yourself too seriously, right?

Believing in yourself means having the courage to stand on your own two feet

Mind and consciousness are synonyms. IF you are parsing them, how are you differentiating them?

    A Curious Question For Non-Trinitarians

Anti-Scriptural. IF Jesus had 2 natures, it doesn't explain why this man-God has a God - who is the only true God.

Believing in yourself means having the courage to stand on your own two feet

Incorrect. It is axiomatic that everything that exists has limits (dimensions) - even the universe. And I don't think it is becoming for you to only talk about one aspect of a concept. I showed you scientific evidence that our consciousness takes decades to stablize, fully mature. This...

Believing in yourself means having the courage to stand on your own two feet

Just stating a simple fact, Most people's ethics are informed by their religious convictions. The question of WHY is meant to be a question of ethics, most often answered by religion. I realize, being your own God, that you want to be your own standard of ethics. So, I'm just presenting a point...

The Insanity of the "right" to have guns!

Pride is strong in him, not righteous but self-righteness. :( We need to pray that he lightens up, while he still can (as the Eagles say). ;)
