    The Jazz Man

Yes, we get to know too many things by which we ask too many questions and encounter too many answers. Ignorance is needed, but when it is too late for that... when we come to God we strive to clear our own slate coming to Him as a small child without all of that stuff in the way simply opening...

    The Jazz Man

If by theological source you mean outside of the Bible, No. In the scriptures, Jesus provides his own example of surrender. "And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as...

    The Jazz Man

We cannot divorce ourselves from our opinion, but God can. For us to grow in Him we must allow Him to work in us. This requires surrender, which is one thing we can do, surrender to God. Once we surrender the first time, then additional opportunities appear.

DOES YOUR CHURCH WANT THE PRESENCE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT?

"Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:" Amos 8:11

When properly directed, the scriptures are sufficient to God's will, but do not expect scriptures wielded by the wrong hands to accomplish righteous purposes.

Why are the 7 Churches in Revelation each greeted differently...

Even if you are not reading it that way on purpose, consider what God's purpose is in having you read it at all. Personal messages for you are one thing and messages for all of His Church are another... or are they? If you are a part of, or are to be a part of, the Body of Christ [the Church]...

Why are the 7 Churches in Revelation each greeted differently...

And perhaps that consensus will be useful/helpful to us when we have read the combined result and perhaps not. Does it not depend upon our hearts in that moment and on what God wants us to know or to believe?

Why are the 7 Churches in Revelation each greeted differently...

Aye for indeed just study is not enough. I remember a number of years ago deciding to simply read and re-read the whole Book of Revelation slowly and prayerfully. I did and it was very worthwhile, but, I did not receive what I had hoped to receive.

Why are the 7 Churches in Revelation each greeted differently...

@Heart2Soul Before I had read down through the thread this far I was going to include a similar explanation...According to the level that each of is at in his walk with God there is a message. The way God addresses each of us is different according to the level and the present circumstances of...

Lets's talk about what the Holy Spirit feels like and means to us!!

Don't limit God by your prayers my friend. Ask God without reservation for anything and everything that He has for you. If you decide something is wrong and so exclude it from your prayer, you are saying ahead of time that you know better than God does just what you need. This is wrong. God...

Lets's talk about what the Holy Spirit feels like and means to us!!

Our bedrock is NOT our faith, my friend. Knowledge and faith are less than Love: "And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing." I Cor 13:2 As for our...

Jericho: The taking down of the Outer Man

Thank you! I copied the following paragraph for inclusion here: The German excavation of 1907–1909 found that on the north a short stretch of the lower city wall did not fall as everywhere else. A portion of that mudbrick wall was still standing to a height of over two meters (eight feet).7...

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

Yes, some people tell stories of turning against the Catholic Church but that is not what happened to you really, nor to me. God has His own reasons at times for doing things which we may not immediately understand. Sometimes even only after many years do we begin to understand why! When I was...

Jericho: The taking down of the Outer Man

I am neither historian nor archeologist but within the scripture, Joshua laid a curse on anyone who might rebuild Jericho [Josh 6:26 about 1500 BC]. A bit more than 500 years later [I King 16:34] we see it fulfilled as the city was rebuilt. As is often the case the rebuilding would likely have...

Jericho: The taking down of the Outer Man

The types and shadows we see in the OT were all the external enemies in Canaanland, the Promised Land, [Canaanites, Amalekites, Jebusites, Hivites, etc. ] to be killed may now be seen as their '-ites' or enemies. Our enemies or '-ites' lying within our personal Promised Land, where our "old man"...

    The Simple Gospel of Grace:

People in delusion by definition, I guess, do not know that they are posting error. Like everyone else they believe that are right. But... when they went into delusion, initially, it was due to a deliberate action which caused them to lose their love for truth. The answer for anyone of us on any...

    Who is a “Christian”?

You apparently don't want to discuss but to teach what you believe that you know and put words in my mouth. I am leaving you now to your ways.

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

No, Grams! I stopped active attendance as a Catholic when I graduated from high school in 1961. For about 15 years after that I served myself rather than God. Then in 1976 God drew me back to Him but never again to Catholicism. When I was a Catholic the mass itself was in Latin. I know that...
