Lets's talk about what the Holy Spirit feels like and means to us!!

Just so you don't hold it against her. How close to one another now are many who will ultimately be part of the Body of Christ? I know that some who will presume that they are to be, won't be, but for those who submit to Him... even though now seemingly quite different, He will work on them...

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

We are too rich in the things of this world and they are too important to us. A little bit of real material poverty would be a good thing for many church goers in America. Many think they've got it made with God, but I always remember this verse: "But he that knew not, and did commit things...

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

My experience among many Protestants is similar to yours. There are exceptions but too many in this country are simply nominal Christians if that is worth anything to God.

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

One of my incentives to collect came from that ex-marine who was in charge of the altar boys. He was also a special education teacher in the elementary school I attended. He had beautiful album of all stamps issued by Vatican City of which I was always envious [slap my hand for envy]. My own...

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

No deacons for us. It was the nuns or nothing until along came an ex-US marine [veteran of Korea] who took over the altar boys my last few years. He made the altar boy club a really fun thing for us taking us on lots of field trips including a bus trip to Disneyland in Anaheim, CA.

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

Sounds like my kind of guy, that Argentine priest. Of course I speak Spanish so he would be an attraction to me for that reason as well. I've never been to Argentina [only one trip to Colombia in S.A., but at the height of my stamp collecting era, I had trading at least 15 trading partners in...

What's the weather like where you are?

We had a couple of days of good rain in northern Oklahoma, very heavy for August, but today and tomorrow it will exceed 100 F by a couple of degrees. Heat warning in effect for youngsters, animals and old folks. I qualify for that last group.

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

I am certainly with you on this. I knew my duties as an altar boy, but about the CC I really only knew what the nuns taught us in catechism which was quite limited in scope.

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

I knew what was happening in the mass because the nuns taught us that much although it was so long ago I remember very little any more. They even taught us what our Latin response meant in English. When there a new altar boy, care was always taken to have him work with an experienced boy. Either...

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

I was an altar boy for many years up until I graduated from high school [1961] but the only Bible I saw was the one the priest read from when he gave his "sermon". At the time I did not realize that more than one Bible version even existed.

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

Of course receiving an invitation is not such an uncommon thing. However, to respond to the invite in a way acceptable to the One extending the invitation is quite another thing, is it not? "And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment: And...

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

Aye, all of the parts of the Body of Christ. All are to subject themselves to Head. Any that do not do so before the end of their course, will, I would presume, not be part of the Body.

(Battle Of Opinions) Not Based On The Word!!

No the Holy Spirit won't do the reading or any studying for us. Each of us must use what is given to us to accomplish what God's will is for us. Not all of us were cut to be learned theologians after the order of the Apostle Paul. Each of us must follow the pathway God provides and along which...

Lets's talk about what the Holy Spirit feels like and means to us!!

We as natural people in our flesh want comfort for our flesh... and often our God who loves us will give us the desires of our hearts, just so we remember to keep first things always first... even if our cup will include personal pain and suffering. Jesus provides the example for your question...

Jericho: The taking down of the Outer Man

Kill the "old man" who still wants to respond favorably to the lust of the eye, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life.

(Battle Of Opinions) Not Based On The Word!!

The 1st one [hermeneutics] I only learned from forums such as this one. It is important to some people, but if you are really being led by the Holy Spirit, not knowing what it means is not going to hinder you in your walk with God. The 2nd one [Berean] comes from the following verses and...

(Battle Of Opinions) Not Based On The Word!!

You are correct about studying, but... only if your number 1 above is involved. Otherwise we have this: "And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh." Ecc 12:12

    Who is a “Christian”?

I did not say that. He that endures to the end shall be saved: "And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved." Matt 10:22 And what then is the need for the Holy Ghost/Holy Spirit? "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the...

    Amadeus, good example

@Collin Feener Everyone is not always very nice here, but it better than any of the Christian Internet forums I know about at the moment. Keep doing what God puts in your heart my friend. But also don't be surprised if someone here strikes out against you. Some do like to discuss, but some only...
