@charity I guessss you know that we don't think that any works saves....but the saved should support their church and do Good Deeds.

My friends say I am a hard a... But we do not want to make it too hard. Christ and the Apostles were not working with the educated. The New Testament was not written yet so they did not even have Bibles. Simple stuff worked best....BE GOOOD! I agree with you that becoming a Christian should be a...

@GodsGrace This is not going to be entirely popular. Students of Christian history...See that Christ had several fronts to His ministry. He was there for the Jews...but also the Pagans. (Pagans before converting to Christianity, Gentiles after conversion.) Which is why it is said He came to...

@GodsGrace I am saying I believe. I am not insinuating it is a doctrine. I believe that there are no Christians in hell. I do believe that there are different levels in Heaven, and some are better than others. Shoot there are people that are saved, but understand very little about the Holy...

I wish I could remember where I first heard this explanation, but it goes like this, Grace as in Christ's Grace that is extend to us, is like a white coat. No matter what we are not perfect, maybe we do not know enough on how to be perfect...but perfect we are not. Because of this coat of Grace...

Legitimate point and if you look into Christian history it is the number one factor that caused the church to splinter into different denominations. They key on a point of salvation and then name a denomination after it. There are certainly scriptures that only list faith as the requirement to...

The scriptures listed reference faith. Likewise you are not going to come up with a scripture that lists all that is required to be saved. You can bet someone will want to add to the list.

· John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life." · Rom. 3:22, "even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe; for there is no distinction." · Rom...

Sounds like a challenge!

All scriptures are inspired by God. People are alright with this until they run a crossed a scriptures that they do not like. Then they start coming up with excuses. What we do now is how we apply Christianity, what they did then was how they applied their religion. The 613 Laws of Moses, if you...

Today the stakes are higher...more dying, the weapons more powerful. The United States nearly stands alone against terrorism. An evil as bad as any time period, should we kill all the breaths and don't forget the children and take the virgin women for ourselves? Can this possibly be right or...

Still does not justify this. Nor do we want to preach it as wise or right on any level.

Yep lets be a Jew. Are we going to stone our kids too.

In the Old Testament women were property and if she was being raped she was required to scream even if it would cost her her life. If not she would be killed. Again, as Christians do you think this is right or smart....something we want in Christianity.

Yep, that is what Christ was referring to....when He called us friends. How can you love that which you fear?

This is classic Hebrew... Numbers 31 17 Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. 18 But all the women-children, that have not known man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves. We could do this....This is truly the...

Hey we could do this....lets start looking to the Old Covenant for wisdom and Laws..... Lev. 15:19-30 The rape of a virgin female that is engaged to another man If there is a girl who is a virgin engaged to a man, and another man finds her in the city and lies with her, then you shall bring...

Again there is nothing wrong with you being a Jew. Paul was not thinking of any end around to include the laws in Christianity. Not symbolically, not metaphorically, and not spiritually. The wisdom of the Old Testament was not good enough...the Laws do not pertain....the customs do not...

In everyone's defense it would take both hands to stay on topic in this thread. Maybe ScottA is referring to born again?
