    Father Z

So, when did fund-raising rise to the level of sin??
  2. BreadOfLife

    Baptism question that seems unbiblical

Soooooo - answer my challenge in post #204. This should be EASY for you . . .
  3. BreadOfLife

    Baptism question that seems unbiblical

And, so my challenge STILL stands: Which Church today is older than the Catholic Church?? Jesus guaranteed that His Church would NOT succumb to the gates of Hell (Matt. 16:18). Sooooo - which Church of today is the Church that Jesus started?? Can't WAIT to read your answer . . .
  4. BreadOfLife

    Baptism question that seems unbiblical

REALLY?? Tell me - when did these "efforts" take place?? The ONLY thing the Church rejected was the perversion of the Scriptures by some prior to the Revolt. Either you have swallowed another historical lie - or you simply haven't done your homework.

    Baptism question that seems unbiblical

So, your moronic charge that there was a "rise" of Papal Authority is historically-bankrupt. If anything - there was a decline in the East to adhere to the Papal Authority established 1000 years before.
  6. BreadOfLife

    Baptism question that seems unbiblical

Answer: He can't - or Jesus is a liar. And, if Jesus is a liar - then we're ALL in trouble. The Pope has never taught heresy nor unbiblical moral teaching - and never will because of the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
  7. BreadOfLife

    Baptism question that seems unbiblical

No - Jesus told His Church that the Holy Spirit would guide it to ALL truth (John 16:12-15). YOUR problem is that you can't show me a Church that existed BEFORE the Catholic Church.
  8. BreadOfLife

    Baptism question that seems unbiblical

No - I didn't "fail" to mention anything. The 11th century split was largely about Authority. I simply gave you a badly-needed history lesson to show you that it was not always the case. There was no "rise" of Papal Authority. There was a rise in the rejection of this Scriptural reality.

    Baptism question that seems unbiblical

Hebrews 3:4 "For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God. This post is so historically-bankrupt - it's difficult to know where to begin. Let's start with the Eastern Churches "not recognizing" the authority of the Bishop of Rome. Hmmmmm, let's see . . . At the...

    Baptism question that seems unbiblical

The Holy Spirit guides Christ's Catholic Church. The teachings and inventions of mere men came to fruition at the Protestant Revolt - and continues to this day with wackos like the ones at your online cult, aggressivechritianity.net.

    Baptism question that seems unbiblical

Sinning is your unregenerate nature, LOL..... get GOD and put a stop to it. >>> LOL. the only thing you want to abdicate is giving God the glory. PCY No - God gets ALL the glory when one of His children does good because He prepared those works for us to do. You have abdicated your...
  12. BreadOfLife

    Baptism question that seems unbiblical

And you abandoned that faith to follow the aberrant teachings of mere men.
  13. BreadOfLife

    Baptism question that seems unbiblical

Your position is nothing short of an abdication of responsibility. If God does ALL the work - then He also does ALL the sinning. What an asinine position . . .
  14. BreadOfLife

    Baptism question that seems unbiblical

No - this is a false statement. I gather that it was made to illustrate the fact that NO Pope n history has ever taught heresy because the Church is guided by the Holy Spirit. Jesus's words to Peter in Matt. 16:18-19 pretty much say it all: Matt. 16:18-19 And so I say to you, you are Peter, and...
  15. BreadOfLife

    Baptism question that seems unbiblical

No - the Word of God lays pretty succinctly what the Church is. I simply parroted that. YOU are the one who doesn't understand what the Church is if you think it is in conflict with Truth.
  16. BreadOfLife

    Baptism question that seems unbiblical

No - the Word of GOD said it. I just parroted it.
  17. BreadOfLife

    Baptism question that seems unbiblical

Wrong, my ignorant friend. 1 Cor. 3:12-15 is about the PERSON who builds - either on what he has been given - or upon his OWN will. The Holy Spirit will NOT be judged. The Holy Spirit will NOT suffer loss. The Holy Spirit will NOT be "saved" as through fire because he is GOD. As for God doing...
  18. BreadOfLife

    Baptism question that seems unbiblical

And WHO said that the term "Roman Catholic" came about AFTER Henry VIII set himself up as the Head of the Church of England?? Henry was King of England from 1509 to his death in 1547. He was the one who coined the term "Catholic Church of England" and "Catholic Church of Rome". You really...
  19. BreadOfLife

    Baptism question that seems unbiblical

Gee - for a guy who blathers on and on about a "Roman" Church and "Romanism" - you have never able to tell me the origins of this phantom sect. As for the Protestant Revolt - it had nothing to do with Papal Authority and everything to do with doctrine. Crack open a history book once in a whole...

    Baptism question that seems unbiblical

Your ignorance of Scripture is ALMOST as astounding as your denial of the truth. Tell me - WHO is Paul talking about here?? The Holy Spirit - or US?? 1 Cor. 3:12-15 If anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, THE WORK OF EACH WILL COME TO LIGHT...
