    The Study of Revelation

"That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me." John 17:21

    The Lord's Supper

Perhaps they (Matthew, Mark and Luke) wrote still of the types and shadows while he (John) wrote of the real thing: "Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Whoso eateth my flesh, and...

    Limited Atonement VS Universal Atonement

God does not change us through His Son to something better than what Adam and Eve before they disobeyed. Rather He gives us the opportunity to succeed where they failed. The choice will remain ours until we have finished our walk along the highway of holiness. Yes, the good work to be done is by...

Did people receive the Holy Spirit and speak in tongues? Or did they speak in tongues ....?

And herein, as I see it, lies the problem when we decide that we have it all right while the other guy who differs in one thing is most definitely in error: "For the body is not one member, but many. If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of...

    Expose on Mormonism.

You are here then as a reference librarian? We could go to the library or to google and find things, certainly, if that was our purpose, but is that why we have come to a Christian forum in the first place? Why not just tell a person to read the Bible for himself and 'don't bother me until you...

    Paul And The Law

Indeed, they were all cold when they first met the Lord, and then perhaps for a while they were hot. Now so many have slipped back to somewhere on the fence in between: "I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and...

    On How to be saved

Ultimately of course you are correct, but for each and every sin we do have to repent in order to accept what Jesus has done. Time is perhaps one thing that confuses us for we almost cannot conceive of there being no time. We cannot conceive the price that paid for us prior to what we see as...

    Limited Atonement VS Universal Atonement

Yes, God maintains us in faith so long as we trust Him. Real believers who get weary in well doing can and do come up against trials they are unprepared for... Their laziness has led them to a lack of trust in God. This can happen to anyone who loses that initial trust. "Trust in the LORD with...

    On How to be saved

If this is so, why is there even a need for Jesus as our advocate after we have really repented that first time? Has Jesus really paid the price for sins we have not yet decided to commit. I think not. So later after having repented we decide to sin again because we have an attraction still...

BAPTISM SAVES, FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS"

Yes, the Word became flesh in Jesus and he was Alive; He was Life. We then are to eat the dead carcass of Jesus [one certain source is the scriptures] and then have that flesh quickened within us by the Holy Spirit so we may become like Him: "Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not...

    Paul And The Law

What Jesus did was open the Door/Gate into the Garden that had been shut since Adam and Eve disobeyed God. We now have access to the Tree of Life, but only overcomers will eat from that Tree. Jesus' finished work was paying the price of cleaning us. Adam and Eve were clean until they sinned. All...

BAPTISM SAVES, FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS"

Indeed and is his flesh not the Word of God? "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." John 1:14

    Genuinely Confused About Prayer

@Seeking Truth Each person has a definite period of time allotted to him by God. Normally only God knows how long that time is and exactly when it ends. We find one example in the OT where King Hezekiah was told to get affairs in order as his time was upon him. Hezekiah prayed and was given 15...

Did people receive the Holy Spirit and speak in tongues? Or did they speak in tongues ....?

Are really disagreeing? If the carcass is simply the flesh of Jesus to be eaten, and the Holy Spirit is the blood of Jesus to be drunk what would the end result be? "Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; Who also hath made us...

Did people receive the Holy Spirit and speak in tongues? Or did they speak in tongues ....?

Yes, but many people can, and do, say that Jesus is Truth without understanding well, or even at all, exactly who and what Jesus is.

Did people receive the Holy Spirit and speak in tongues? Or did they speak in tongues ....?

The primary difference between us at this point may be a serious one. You speak of the scriptures alone as the Word of God, while I speak of the scriptures alone as a dead carcass requiring the quickening of them within us by the Holy Spirit.

BAPTISM SAVES, FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS"

In the post below @VictoryinJesus cited verses where people were eating the wrong things, not "good" table scraps but that which was truly garbage: 'Wherever there is a carcass......' Matthew 24:28 If we eat scraps from the Master's tables instead of the tables of carnal men, we will receive...

Did people receive the Holy Spirit and speak in tongues? Or did they speak in tongues ....?

Many times, we do not know what we need, but without the help of the Holy Spirit we would be unable to prove a thing that really mattered to God.

Did people receive the Holy Spirit and speak in tongues? Or did they speak in tongues ....?

I may not agree specifically with each idea, but the general idea is good. Let God sort out our differences when it is necessary.
