It is not in the bible.....sola scripture

TRANSLATION: "I incorrectly used the terms "red herring" and "straw man" - and you caught me."
  2. BreadOfLife

It is not in the bible.....sola scripture

Uhhh, no - that was written in response to mjrhealth's post - not yours.
  3. BreadOfLife

It is not in the bible.....sola scripture

Good - can you point to the "red herring" or "straw man" in the historical fact that the Catholic Church compiled and declared the Canon of the New Testament? This should be interesting . . .
  4. BreadOfLife

It is not in the bible.....sola scripture

The Canon of the New Testament was compiled and declared by the Catholic Church. Why on earth would a person like you, who claims the Church is "evil" agree with that Canon of Scripture?? Can YOU say, "Hypocrisy"??
  5. BreadOfLife

It is not in the bible.....sola scripture

And there you go again quoting the Catholic Canon of Scripture. Respond when you have something useful to add to the conversation . . .

It is not in the bible.....sola scripture

That's not what I'm saying at all. This all started because somebody was claiming that the Catholic Church taught something that it didn't. I told them that if they want to know what the Church teaches - then go to a primary source like the Catechism and not wikipedia.

It is not in the bible.....sola scripture

I find it fascinating how you people don't understand that it is a primary source for Catholic teaching - just as the Constitution is a primary source for U.S. Law. If you want to know how the Government is structures - you go to the Constitution. If you want to know what the Catholic Church...

It is not in the bible.....sola scripture

How does the Catechism put Catholicism "outside" of Christianity? Please enlighten me . . .
  9. BreadOfLife

It is not in the bible.....sola scripture

The Catechism is a PRIMARY source for learning what the Church teaches. Again - the whole point is that when you are going to talk about what the Catholic Church believes in and teaches - you must go to the Catechism and not a Jack Chick tract . . .
  10. BreadOfLife

It is not in the bible.....sola scripture

In other words - you have nothing useful to add to the conversation. That's what I thought . . .

Who Can Be Saved?? Anyone, Everyone, All, Who so ever calls on the Name of the Lord!!

What I said is not "stupid". I was holding YOU accountable for what YOU said. The entire premise of your original remark that "NO ONE" will believe is what is stupid. As for Psalms 14 and Romans 3 - they are using inclusive language. You are a Scriptural literalist and, therefore, blind to...

    Guess What?!

Do you even know what "apostate" means??
  13. BreadOfLife

    Guess What?!

Spoken like another ignorant ex-Catholic. The Catholic Church is the Mystical Body of Christ, whom He said the gates of Hell would not prevail against. Your problem is that you think Jesus is a liar . . .
  14. BreadOfLife

    Guess What?!

And which one would that be? It couldn't be the Vatican - which does NOT reside on one of the Seven Hills of Rome. The Seven Hills are: 1. Aventine Hill 2. Caelian Hill 3. Capitoline Hill 4. Esquiline Hill 5. Palatine Hill 6. Quirinal Hill 7. Viminal Hill Vatican Hill is across the Tiber from...

    Pope....Protestant version ?

??? Would you mind clarifying that statement?

    Salvation loss. Is it possible?

Thank God it's not up to YOU to decide who is saved and who is not . . .
  17. BreadOfLife

    Salvation loss. Is it possible?

Ummm, not from what I've read of your posts . . .
  18. BreadOfLife

It is not in the bible.....sola scripture

HUH?? I said that the Catechism is a PRIMARY document - not a secondary one. My whole point was that if you are going to attempt to declare what the Catholic Church teaches, you must go to a the PRIMARY source, which is the Catechism. This is where you will find out what the Church teaches -...
  19. BreadOfLife

It is not in the bible.....sola scripture

In John 14, Jesus is speaking to the TWELVE - not to the crowds. He is speaking to the leaders of His Church. He reiterated this promise at the Last Supper: John 16:12-15 “I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now. But when he comes, the Spirit of truth, he will guide you to ALL...

Who Can Be Saved?? Anyone, Everyone, All, Who so ever calls on the Name of the Lord!!

Sure - but YOU said: "The problem with the title of this thread is that NO ONE will believe. Man is sold out to his sins and he is a servant to Satan." That's not true. We will believe when given the grace to believe. Also - Psalm 14 and Romans 3 are using inclusive language and do not account...
