Who's Nehushtan? I know what you're talking about. I'm not going to argue this out. If you cannot accept Jesus as God, but you can accept Him as the Son of God, I truly don't think salvation is at issue. Although some will tell you it is. I don't believe our doctrine will save us, but our...

It is not in the bible.....sola scripture

Do you think I'm Catholic?? I'm not. Son of Man is a term used in the O.T. It meant MESSIAH, the awaited one, the annointed one. It's from Daniel 7. I looked on the net to post something, but the best I could do is get a link. I hope you read it... Why Is Jesus Called “Son of Man”? |...

Catch 22. If we worship Him, He must be God. If He's God, we should worship Him. What makes ME worship Him is that if He wasn't God, He was crazy. I think I said this up there. I can't have any respect for a crazy man... not even as a good teacher.

    Jesus in the Old Testament

This makes me think of the Wedding Banquet, Mathew 22. The guests had to be wearing the proper clothing. Also, Jesus is our cover...We are clothed with Him. Romans 13:14 Galatians 3:27

Sola Scriptura - does this foundation make you a heretic

Is it this one: It's easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission... But it's not a catholic thing. At least I don't think so. I've heard many an atheist say this !

It is not in the bible.....sola scripture

I believe the problem here is that if Jesus is not God, then we're worshipping a man. Why did Jesus forgive sin? Only God can forgive sin. How did He heal? What about the resurrection? I know what you're talking about... I just can't accept it. If Jesus thought He was God and wasn't, He...

Sola Scriptura - does this foundation make you a heretic

Some scripture is SO PLAIN and yet it's changed to mean something different. I think what some do is make up their doctrine and then come to the bible and make the bible fit the doctrine. It's supposed to be the other way around...

    Was James confused?

Every term is made up! Trinity is a made up term. Hyper Grace and Easy Believism are terms not made up by me. But they mean the same thing. It's EASY to believe because one doesn't have TO DO ANYTHING. So, pastors make it very easy to believe in Jesus. Mathew 7:29 says that the crowd was...

It is not in the bible.....sola scripture

Hi Kepha I'm sure that the CC basis it's teachings and dogma on scripture. I just don't know how refined my search has to be to find some verses for what I quoted above. I understand this very well. It seems to happen in Protestantism too, thus all the schisms. I agree that in Catholicism it's...

    Jesus in the Old Testament

Who is Aaron you ask. He was a High Priest. High Priests were a connection between man and God. There were rules a High Priest had to meet. I think one had to be 26, but not sure. He offered sacrifices to God Father. LORD. Jesus met all of the above requirements. He was the last sacrifice...

It is not in the bible.....sola scripture

Everyone with half a brain accepts the virgin birth. Not even every Catholic (I don't mean laity) can accept in the PV of Mary. It doesn't fit in with the times, it makes little sense to people. There doesn't seem to be a reason for it except that the CC wants to elevate Mary. I also don't...

    Salvation loss. Is it possible?

Aren't YOU telling ME what YOU think God is in your entire post above? I know about what you're talking about. You told me you're not a Calvinist. The potter could do whatever He wants to do. The biggest problem in Christianity is trying to reconcile God's goodness with evil. We keep trying...

Sola Scriptura - does this foundation make you a heretic

You think those who study don't know God?? No comment... It's wasted words.

Sola Scriptura - does this foundation make you a heretic

Yes. We still sin. But I've never understood what sin has to do with this conversation of God requiring us to have faith and do good deeds. Salvation, faith, is free. There is no cost. It's wholly a work of God. We could not save ourselves. Ephesians 2:8 But go down to Ephesians 2:10 We are...

    Called to Overcome....

Willie, I hate socialism. But your post above reminds me of Animal Farm by John Steinbeck. THEN instead of Secular State Control, we'll have Dominionism Christian Control !! (or however it would be titled) Someone will always be in control. I like the idea that leaders are Christian in...

Sola Scriptura - does this foundation make you a heretic

I don't believe that word "required" is used in the Bible to define what you say here. We are required to have faith. And we are required to do good deeds. Ephesians 2:8 tells us that we are saved by grace through our faith in Jesus. There are many verses that tell us we are to do good deeds...

    Was James confused?

Amen! We are to obey what God has spoken to us. These days good is called evil and evil is called good. Those who seek to live as Jesus commanded are called "workers" and are looked down upon. The Easy Believers are said to have the Holy Spirit. Seems like the opposite to me... Isaiah 5:20

Sola Scriptura - does this foundation make you a heretic

I understand and most times I state what I believe and move on. Works vs faith is an exception because many are mislead today and this idea is being passed on. It's a new idea and has nothing to do with Christianity. We're required to have both, not choose between the two.
