On the contrary! If Jesus and the Father are "one in the same" then Jesus was praying that you and I would be what he was: "Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that...

Why would no one dare say? Because he was Peter? That is a wrong reason. Why should we not consider why God had the story of Peter included in scriptures in the first place? God also has King Saul placed in scriptures as one who repeatedly, from what we read, walked along his selfish way. Was...

This is OK. Sometimes I refer to or quote things I have written and saved to my computer over the years, but, then again, when I access them for a current response to someone I frequently edit them for the current purpose or even because God has shown me something new to me since I saved them...

Give God the glory!

Also praying for Linda and Mary!

@"ByGrace" I haven't noticed the tiny font yet, but the tagging certainly did work.

"Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: For with stammering lips and...

[This is a short study I originally did many few years ago. I reworked it more recently when I was unable to find the original. I do not believe I have posted it before on this forum but it seems to fit on this thread:] Jacob versus Israel Quite a long time ago now it caught my attention that...

Thank you for your kind words. God is the only one who gives anyone increases. For that let us give Him the praise and the honor and the glory!

@"ByGrace" In my case, since I seriously doubt the existence of a separate entity called "satan", I would simply say that we, the real culprits, the real sinners, the real instigators of the disobedience to God are the ones who need to bow before God. But if we never do so... if we always...

@APAK @Nancy @Philip James Well after all my years with the KJV I am certainly not going to change. As a point of information the Spanish Reina Valera Bible version which is older than the KJV of 1611 used the word, "caridad" rather than common Spanish word for love of "amor". But that is...

But how difficult or easy is it to make the switch to...? "And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be...

Even so, Helen! At the worst of times as my flesh thinks it is the lust of the eyes and the lust of the flesh which are there before me, but then as those two are seemingly put behind me and I am thinking, 'I am doing so well', out jumps one a bad if not worse: The pride of life.

What I see on this is that while we may be full at the moment it is like Job in Job 1:1. He was a perfect man, being as full as he could be with the things of God considering his situation. By the end of the book, he has room for more. The old man has given up some space effectively making room...

You perhaps would not, but some people do pray for that which they want rather than what God would want even though the words coming out of their mouths may say the right thing. The right thing of course is you already said according to "Your will", the Your referring to God. This is how Jesus...

It is a good thing to understand it all better, but unfortunately there are always some around who will push and shove to get a person argue a point that the person really does not yet understand. We do really live by faith, which is "the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things...

@Frank Lee Very sorry to hear of your difficulties. I have no further suggestions but am keeping your wife and you in prayer on this.

When I first began talking in tongues the church I attended taught just that. Never having read the Bible before not having received any teaching about it I presumed, wrongly, that what the pastor said must be correct. Eventually it was this very point on which I came to disagree with the...

Unfortunately there is sometimes ignorance among people who talk in tongues and they unknowingly leave the wrong impression on others. All of us who believe in God, tongue talkers or not, need to continuously read and study and pray. How often? Paul writes that we should pray without ceasing...

Actually what has happened on this forum recently is someone has said that we, the tongue talkers, are effectively calling the non-tongue talking believers 2nd class Christians because we insist on continue to speak in tongues. Of course, the person in question is against any one having a...
