Is Jesus a Man That God Selected?

1,000’s of verses in Scripture show you are wrong but this thread is laser focused on one verse only, Acts 17:31. These 2 things are not the same: A. Being on the same page as another. B. Being the same being as another. Jesus said we are one also but that does not make us God any more than him.

Is Jesus a Man That God Selected?

True but to say there are literal statements in a book is not to say there are no figurative, non-absolute statements ALSO.

Is Jesus a Man That God Selected?

Yes, the truth is relative to how you apply the figurative language you mentioned in the Bible. Here are 2 opposing figurative phrases: The early bird gets the worm. The 2nd mouse gets the cheese. The validity of the figurative phrases is relative to the circumstances.

Is Jesus a Man That God Selected?

Agreed, figurative language is an example of relative truth.

I can't believe you are still relying on a discredited translation to make your point.

Is Jesus a Man That God Selected?

Not true at all. There are 4 major examples. 1. Adam & Eve Did Not Die The Day They Ate the Forbidden Fruit. 2. God lied to 400 prophets. 3. God hates lying but honored the Midwives of Moses time and Rahab the prostitute because they lied. 4. Jesus did not rebuild the temple in 3 days. Now, if...

Is Jesus a Man That God Selected?

Not sure where you get the idea that this is the main idea but it is entertaining to see you dance around God, in his unitarian nature, acted with respect to the man Jesus. The action this unitarian God took was in the vein of selecting, ordaining, appointing. To call elevating a man to such...

Is Jesus a Man That God Selected?

Ordained. Appointed. Selected. These are synonyms. God ordained the man Jesus. KJV. Same difference. The meaning goes against trinity world.

Is Jesus a Man That God Selected?

Interesting exchange. In another thread, either an atheist or agnostic seemed to suppose that if a thing COULD BE disputed, that meant it was not true. Of course, anything can be unreasonably disputed. I've referenced the old nursery rhythm numerous times, Jack and Jill. Does anyone dispute...

Do you think Joe Biden is guilty of the allegations against him made by Tara Reade?

Oy vey. Not quite. The race baiters and sex baiters have you twisted. There is not women's rights separate from other rights. The weight of the claim of equality has to be carried here. Want equal rights but special privileges? In our 2,000 year old system of jurisprudence, accusations are not...

Is Jesus a Man That God Selected?

I imagine that’s what straight forward thinking - based on logic, definition & language usage - sounds like to trinitarians. The text reads ‘God selected the man Jesus.’ Simple but undermining doctrine not contained in Scripture. Therefore, it has to be codswallup, and gobbledegook. The verse...

Is Jesus a Man That God Selected?

The idea that a man God selected is not perhaps but an explicit teaching in Scripture. That Jesus was the word from the beginning is not an explicit teaching in Scripture but a trinitarian imposition onto unitarian text. See Duet 18:15-18. God put his words into Jesus. Perhaps God planned to...

Is Jesus a Man That God Selected?

I floored an 86-year old trinitarian over the weekend by asking him to read Rev 1:1. When he got to the word God I told him to stop. The resurrected Jesus in heaven was given a revelation by God. You have to be devoted to a doctrine antithetical to the word of God to still claim Jesus is God...

Explain Revelations So Even I Can Understand It

Nothing specific. Just a thumbnail sketch. For instance, I could some up Original Sin very succinctly and even the whole book of Genesis. No need for me to do it in this thread. In fact, if put to the test, I am confident I could reasonably summarize every book of Bible - except Revelations.

Agreed. ‘For us, there is one God, the Father.’ Hard to imagine a more explicit destruction of the false doctrine of the trinity.

Explain Revelations So Even I Can Understand It

Just read a thread about war in heaven via Rev 12:7. Though I read revelations 3x, I confess I cannot keep it in my head. I even read a book by a Rabbi who did an excellent analysis of connecting the many figurative passages. The 1st time I read Revelations, I thought John must have been...

    False Prophets

Only if you see things that aren't there. That is, the trinity is not in the Bible anywhere and neither is its doctrine. Sad to project trinitarian doctrine onto unitarian text. The Jews, who wrote Genesis, certainly do not see the trinity in the creation account. That tells you there is...
