Why do they hate being called Christians

WRONG. The only "guarantees" are contingent upon OUR cooperation with His grace. YOUR problem is that you take verses out of context to arrive ar your perverted doctrines. You posted 2 Tim. 2:13 but left out everything that came before it. Here it is in CONTEXT: 2 Tom. 2:11-13 Here is a...

    The unforgiveable sin ?

WRONG. God detests disobedience ; ; ; Ephesians 5:6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Titus 1:16 They profess to know God, but by their deeds they deny Him, being detestable and disobedient and worthless...

    The unforgiveable sin ?

WRONG. Matt. 7:21-23 is talking about a FUTURE event - Judgement.

Why do they hate being called Christians

Nobody has a guarantee unless they endure to the end in faith. I have a moral certitude, provided I am faithful.

    Now there's an intelligent response . . .

Why did the Apostles Peter and Paul believe in a visionary Jesus, not a historical Jesus?

Paul never places Jesus on earth?? What nonsense. 1 Cor 11:23-26 talks about Jesus at the Last Supper - on EARTH. Rom.6:6 , 1 Cor. 1:13, 1 Cor.2:2, 2 Cor.13, Gal.2:20, Gal.3:1, , Gal.5:24, Gal.6:14 ALL speak of His crucifixion - on EARTH 1 Cor. 15:6 talks about Jesus appearing to more than 500...

Why do they hate being called Christians

    YUP - if I endure to the end (Matt. 5:13, Matt. 7:21, Rom. 11:22, Heb. 10:26-27, 2 Peter 2:20-22, 2 Peter 3:17, Rev. 3:5, Rev. 22:19). Disobedience will only get you Hell . . .

It is not in the bible.....sola scripture

This entire post is looney. First of all - Mary being sinless does NOT mean that she didn't need Jesus. God simply chose to apply the grace of His sacrifice to he before she was born. This is the ONLY way she could be Kecharitomene. God is not bound by time - and Scripture tells us that...

    The unforgiveable sin ?

Ummmm, let's hear what YOU think Matt. 7:21-23 is about? Are these people being judged or not? Which one of your 5 or 6 "Judgments" does it refer to?? PS - My evidence is "nauseous"?? What kind of nonsensical remark is that?? Maybe I should use smaller words that "ad nauseam" . . .
  10. BreadOfLife

Why do they hate being called Christians

No - being part of the Body of Christ requires obedience: - Being baptized (Matt. 28:19-20, John 3:5, Rom. 2:29, Rom. 6:1-11, Col. 2:12-17, 1 Peter 3:21) - Picking up our cross daily to follow him (Matt. 16:24, Luke 9:23) - Works of mercy and charity (Matt. 19:21, 25:31–46, Luke 18:22) -...

It is not in the bible.....sola scripture

Why would you make the asinine statement that Mary didn't need Jesus?? The Church doesn't teach this. Is that what the "Generals" teach you over at your cult (aggressivechristianity.net)?
  12. BreadOfLife

It is not in the bible.....sola scripture

NONE of those verses show Jesus "disinheriting" His Mother. To have "disinherit" her would mean that He Dishonored her - breaking the 4th Commandment. Jesus never broke a Commandment, so you LOSE on that point. No - I, like YOU, was born with the stain of original sin - unlike Adam and Eve or...

    The unforgiveable sin ?

Stranger - we've been ALL through this on another thread and even in the face of overwhelming evidence, you insisted that you were right and I was wrong - even though the consensus of Protestant and Catholic scholarship agrees about the 2 Judgments. In short - I've already presented my evidence...
  14. BreadOfLife

It is not in the bible.....sola scripture

And YOU ignored MY question - Where in Scripture did Jesus "disinherit" His mother?? As for the comparison between Adam & Eve and Mary - there is NO comparison. Adam and Eve were born sinless but later sinned Mary was born sinless and never sinned. HOW, you ask?? Mary was "Kecharitomene" -...
  15. BreadOfLife

    The unforgiveable sin ?

We've been through ALL of this before yet YOU keep coming up with more and more judgments that simply are not Biblical. We are judged right after we die (Particular Judgement - 1 Cor. 3:12-15, Heb. 9:27). The living and the dead are Judged at the 2nd coming (General Judgement - Matt. 7:21-23...

It is not in the bible.....sola scripture

Not only has your argument about Mark 6:3 been squashed repeatedly - you didn't read through Kepha31's entire post (#162). I just destroyed your position yet again in post #187 . . .
  17. BreadOfLife

It is not in the bible.....sola scripture

Actually - I spoke about them earlier in the thread. James and Joses are said to be the children of the "other" Mary at the foot of the cross. This Mary is said to be the "Adelphe" of Mary, mother of Jesus. Are we to assume that they are uterine sisters? Hardly, because they have the same...

Why do they hate being called Christians

It's not a "system" of Rites. They are largely cultural differences. Many of the Rites were previously broken away from the Church and returned many centuries ago. They were allowed to keep their ancient cultural customs.

It is not in the bible.....sola scripture

And as far as I'm concerned - if you simply disagree, then I have no problem with you. I only have a problem with the other 98% of Protestants who make up lies and fairy tales about what they THINK the Catholic Church teaches.

    The unforgiveable sin ?

Yes, I forgot that you hold a bizarre view on many Judgments. There are only TWO that the Bible speaks of: 1) Particular Judgement 2) General Judgment.
