I just checked my copy. It was printed in 1997 as a 7 in 1 anthology dated between 1982 and 1997. My book contains over 600 pages. Looking at it now I am reminded that my wife read it all, but I only read part of it. I'll set it aside to make sure I get it all this time. I am really a slow...

Thank you! I copied them to my computer Bible studies also for reference. Your post prompted me to also save them for easy access.

We had a church dinner this afternoon. Everyone brought something. My wife made a coconut cream pie for our part. There was meatloaf plus candied yams topped with marshmellows along mashed potatoes and garlic bread which I ate. There were other things I cannot recall. In addition to our pie...

I actually read through a couple of pages on prayer and it looks good so far. A few years ago, our pastor bought a copy of "On Prayer" by "EM Bounds" for each family in the congregation. Both my wife and I read it shortly thereafter. I remember it had some good things in it, although I don't...

@Mayflower Praying for Andrea.

I do have the book and have skimmed the table of contents. Perhaps tomorrow I can look into the prayer chapter. Thank you

Esau is used as an example for us, but we should hesitate with him or with anyone to render a final judgment of condemnation. People will use Adolf Hitler as an example of one definitely lost to God, but again who knew or knows his heart and his final place with God? What kind of a terrible life...

How do we pray? As you say that example in Gethsemene seems the best one, if we are able to understand the what and the why. Again really we cannot always pray correctly without God's help even in that. So... in spite of people arguing against it for this reason or that, I won't stop until God...

@Nancy @bbyrd009 @"ByGrace" @etc. Very simply one way I have seen it expressed is that God loves Esau less as a result of Esau's actions or inactions. Time is always a problem with us in things like this, but time is no problem with God. He knows the beginning and the end and all that lies...

You put thoughts into my head my friend. I do need to do something. I will follow my plan to call the toll free number through my insurance to see what they offer. I have been to the gym here and enjoyed the workouts so if that is feasible then OK. But what you are suggesting is something I have...

Yes, perhaps it would be best for us if we prayed that God grant us a little more pain and damage so as to be taught the better, eh...? Not so easy to pray such a prayer. Then people will ask me why I pray often in an unknown tongue.

Too late is when our time has run out. "Is there not an appointed time to man upon earth? are not his days also like the days of an hireling?" Job 7:1 And who among us knows when his appointed time is finished?

Thanks! I found a toll free number for my federal supplement to ask about fitness program discounts. Unfortunately the information I need must come from a person and on the weekend, only the computer is talking.

Thanks for checking. I am checking with my insurance. Their online site doesn't show anything like that but they're more concerned with regular health insurance coverage. They have a toll free number I'm going to call and see if I can get a discount on what the local place charges. Now that you...

By insurance you mean what? We have Medicare as well as my federal retirement Health insurance which for health care is better than anything we could get anywhere else. I have not heard the term "Silver Sneakers" before. If I talked to some of the multitude of people calling all of the time...

Twinc has been around forums for many years [more than 10 to my knowledge]. He has not really changed and it is hard to understand what he is which is a mixed version of old Catholicism and some other things. I am still learning about him and he as you may have noticed is at times quite cryptic...

With All Due Respect

We tried joining an exercise place for a while, but the monthly fee was a bit too much to handle on our fixed income so we stopped it some time ago. We still try to walk regularly but the heat is too much for us to walk long during the summer. For many years my wife suffered terribly from...

And so then, is this now composed of mostly Christian people in a mostly Christian nation? I guess it would depend upon what we define as "Christian"?

Even so! Of the many pastors I have had over the years, looking back there is only one that I am certain was called by God as a minister and he missed a lot of steps. The ones who never had the calling they took are another thing altogether. I am glad that I don't have to judge them. God has led...
