Give God the glory!

On things that you believe most strongly don't let yourself be swayed by anything but God. Even a trusted man of God may sometimes miss God. The, difficulty as you may have already encountered is in recognizing the Master's voice as opposed to other voices. This is why my emphasis is on starting...

I 've been there with what I might call the cowardice thing, but over the years God has helped me with that. I try not to push people, but neither do I hesitate to speak when I believe that God is in it. He often simply gives me the words to reply. Other times I will search for answers before...

Yes, but often we don't know the difference between the facts and the opinions. This why we are living by faith rather than by knowledge. If we are growing toward God the faith is probably approaching the knowledge as Jesus leads us. "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who...

Very good! Let the tares grow until the time of the harvest. Even in some of the best places I have been someone is always wanting to condemn or remove what they consider to be tares. [Have I ever done it? I wish I could say, nay.] The problem is that until we have overcome all the world, as...

That there will be no flood destroying everything allows that something good is to remain. The good that remains will be on the water, as Peter himself was when he stepped out of the boat. If we always keep our eyes on the Lord, we will not sink into the water. We will not drown. If like Peter...

The gender of the "women" used in scripture often includes both males and females in the role of the church or the assembly or the congregation. The group of people [assembly or church] led by a leader [minister, pastor, etc.] who are simply filling up space work are effectively "silly women"...

Amen! God works where He works for His reasons. Sometimes He lets us know the result and sometimes He does not.

I would say so. It may have an underlying additional meaning as well.

While I see this sister at church regularly and talk to her, she never talked to me about her children. She told my wife about them. Going back a very few generations we see large families as the usual thing because they were mostly farmers and lived off the land. The women took care of the...

There is a sister, where I attend services, a widow, age 96 this year, who had 22 children. That was definitely of an old school of thought or something. She also worked for the railroad several years back. She is one of two 96 year old sisters in our congregation. They are the only members...

But the covenant God made with man after Noah came out of the ark was favorable with no conditions. It is not even necessary to be a natural child of Jacob to benefit from that one. "And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a...

Might be better to spend our time on the 'G' versus the 'g' of God/god. I usually try to use the 's' rather than the 'S' myself so as not to even suggest that there is Life in death. People sometimes have good reasons and sometimes not so good reasons for doing little things they do. If their...

After a while it seems wasteful and tiresome to say another word. Some simply have to have the last word. It's like one of those games played here on another thread. To be last is really impossible from a human standpoint unless everyone else playing is already dead. The problem with this "game"...

@Uisdean Welcome to the forum!

Yes, the "red liquid" being the life blood of the flesh. Jacob was looking for something better, not "red blood" but rather the Holy Spirit but this early he did not know about that or that there was a better way. He went with what he had. He was still Jacob [supplanter, heel catcher] but in...

Welcome to the forum. Yes, the sheep are the ones who hear His voice. Give God the glory!

Yes, I guess that's it. Who are we able to ask for assistance around here?

Thank you my friend. I may take a look, but my wife is usually very careful about what she feeds me. My trouble comes when she is sick but in the last few months she has been well most of the time and doing a good job for us. I know my main trouble is a lack of exercise. I thought I could handle...
