    "Faith without works is dead"

If the works done are godly, why should we not believe them? In the case of Jesus we would all likely at least give lip service to saying they are godly. But it is someone else we know today in our day to day activities or some of those on this forum who has at times rubbed us the wrong way, how...

    Confession

We are supposed to grow toward the Lord and His Way and away from our own. This what I believe John the Baptist meant here: "He must increase, but I must decrease." John 3:30

    Does Scripture Endorse Being Derisive?

If I am killed, then I am killed. That too is OK so long as I am in Him when I am killed. Give God the glory, my friend!

    Confession

We all do speak in tongues if we have really come to know God, but that doesn't always mean that we all speak in an unknown human type language formed in our mouth by God although for some it is just exactly that. Jesus spoke in an "unknown" tongue when he spoke in parables that many of the...

    Time Brings A Revelation

Yes, but even when one asks, seeks or knocks, patience may be required as he waits for the Lord: "Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content." Phil 4:11

    Does Scripture Endorse Being Derisive?

There are undoubtedly people who invite the ones suggested by Jesus instead of those we favor carnally [this carnally may include our church going "friends"]. Although my wife has never been the Bible student that many are, she has always surpassed me [and most of the people I have known in...

    Does Scripture Endorse Being Derisive?

Well it is not supposed be Jesus alone, is it? "Then said he also to him that bade him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a recompence be made thee. But when thou...

    Does Scripture Endorse Being Derisive?

People, certainly too often including you and me, want to put forth their way of thinking and acting on behalf of God. How well are we really able to love our enemies? Consider Jesus response to his followers when they suggested that fire be called down from heaven on certain people... "But he...

    Does Scripture Endorse Being Derisive?

The problem is that everyone believes they are correct while the guy who disagrees with them is of course in error. So then each of is correcting the other but the key I see is that anyone who does so in the wrong spirit is in error even if his arguments really are correct. It comes back to I...

Two Spirits At War In America?

I wonder if their definition of a Christian would be equal to God's definition of a follower of Christ?

    Does Scripture Endorse Being Derisive?

When is it that we are supposed to laugh at others or at ourselves? Can this laughing be of a mocking sort? Should it ever be? "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:" Ecc 3:1 "...a time to laugh..." Ecc 3:4 "The kings of the earth set themselves...

Hard Truth For Non Tongue Speakers

It appears to me that he has decided that he knows how God works and how God does not works in every case and is checking to see if anyone would disagree with Him.

    Just fights, nothing but

You were blessed indeed. I never had such a blessing, but many years ago I purchased two of her books [The Hiding Place and Tramp for the Lord] and every once in a while I need to go back and re-read them. I am blessed each time.

The red numbers above my ALERTS and INBOX have disappeared!

I often have the same problem keeping track especially if I haven't been online in a long while and the number is high. The worst thing if you lose track of which number you are on is you either skip some or do some more than once.

The red numbers above my ALERTS and INBOX have disappeared!

Yes, this is just the way the system works. With only alert it is no problem. I have numbers as high as 15 or 20. When you go into you lose the number. What I do when there are several when I first go is to count from the latest one backwards to the original alert number and mark down the time...

The red numbers above my ALERTS and INBOX have disappeared!

One of those numbers is for your "alerts". Once you click on the alerts to look at them the number will disappear even if you have not read them all. They are still there, but the number of them is lost. You simply have to remember the number if you wish to go through those alerts. The same...

    HOW TO SUFFER

@VictoryinJesus I have no words of encouragement for the pain of your situation beyond trusting God as I believe you already are. I am praying that God will handle the situation in His Way. He is always able and always knows what is best.

Jesus never said he was God Almighty

When I really want to read it and it is seemingly illegible because of size or color, simply quote as if you are going to reply to it. Then "select it" and change the size and color. It is a lot of trouble, but if you really want to read it is one possibility. You still do not have to actually...

Jesus never said he was God Almighty

Ah but if we do have the "eyes to see" of which Jesus spoke how blind can we be?

How to Activate the Grace Within

All of those things may be included in where the Holy Spirit leads us, but I would leave even the decision of where we are to be led to the Holy Spirit. Sometimes it is better to stay at home or to keep our mouth shut because that is where the Holy Spirit would lead us. If we decide ahead of...
