I look then also to the next two verses: Heb 6:2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. Heb 6:3 And this will we do, if God permit. When we have gotten or even while we are getting the foundation of repentance from...

Explaining the spiritual with the carnal is never more than expressing the real thing with a type or shadow. What is the real thing other than Jesus in us, the hope of glory? [from Col 1:27]

@tabletalk People like to be comfortable physically... but also spiritually. They usually choose to sit on a rough rock rather than on the low down ground. They usually choose to sit on a wooden bench rather than the rough rock. They choose the cushioned easy chair rather than that rock. When I...

Indeed, "count it all joy" and give God the glory!

Actually I agree with you on both points. "Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou...

It is NOT for sentimental reasons that I retain my use of KJV. Every other version in my experience has similar or worse troubles, but I consider these words and believe them: "Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled." Matt 5:6 Someone who is...

Are you never understood? Do you always understand the other side of the issue involved? We all stand on what we believe, if we really believe it. As the name calling, I do agree, but a problem with owners and moderators is that they also are people. They may work hard to do the right thing...

My church, as you call it, strives to let the Holy Spirit lead the way. They do fail but not so much as those who start out with a pre-set program for worship services as do most Protestants and Catholics. The program excludes God unless God is willing to follow man's program. How does that...

Sorry but I had to remove my "like" from this one. I need to learn to read more slowly and accurately. What is the basis for you saying what have underlined and changed to blue above? How could you know such a thing was done and by whom? The Jews wrote the OT and probably most of the NT...

Thank you for your amplification. I agree that there is no such thing as "luck" with God. It is nice to agree with you on something.

The most accurate according to whom? Probably few people would agree with your assessment, but I must go with my own as God leads me. My versions are accurate as I read them and as God directs me. They may not be for other people. I am not other people. Their connection with God is not mine...

@kepha31 The Church is not invisible to those with "eyes to see" and it is biblical. As to being to historical, what would that mean? Do we need a history book outside of the written Bible? Do we need a guide outside of the Holy Spirit? God is providing ministers as per Ephesians 4 to perfect...

Brother I have followed the lead of the Spirit for a great many years. When I started to read the Bible at age 32 in 1976, it was the KJV. I wouldn't consider changing my reading and study Bibles now as anything else throws me out of kilter. Besides God's going to show me what He wants without...

Go ahead and connect them. It may work, but they may be more to it than that. Before our rest comes His rest, at least that is what David wrote here: "Surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house, nor go up into my bed; I will not give sleep to mine eyes, or slumber to mine eyelids...

No, rather than to having to do with the trinity it may be closer to these two cherubims: "And thou shalt make two cherubims of gold, of beaten work shalt thou make them, in the two ends of the mercy seat. And make one cherub on the one end, and the other cherub on the other end: even of the...

Is there such a thing as "luck" with God?

And if all we have is anchored or situated in the world as we know it, what will remain of us when it is gone?

The "name" is important to the whole of scripture, which means ultimately to the Word of God [in spite of differences in belief about that]. Some have argued strenuously about what the name is on this forum and elsewhere? Being "IN the name" is where a believer should always want to be, but...

That is not a answer for me to my question, but I can go on toward God without it.

Do we know of any organized Christian church that has not moved in the same direction as the Catholics did? Someone came of her, but usually [always?] the new group that often started on a good pathway found itself very close to the old mother church. Do we not meet people today who attend no...
