    Crusades Began with Reconquista

“Eileen Egan of the Catholic Worker Movement expressed it this way: ‘We were a pacifist church in the first three centuries. Augustine and others devised the just war theory, and laity were consecrated to be soldiers. The church, however, retained the pacifist witness for clergy and monastic...

    Crusades Began with Reconquista

“Christian Pacifism: The First Three Centuries As participants in an illegal movement, the early Christians obviously resisted Roman domination. Yet they strived to be goid citizens. One of the most revealing descriptions of early Christians is found in the ‘Letter to Diogentus,’ from the...

    Crusades Began with Reconquista

How many widows and fatherless has the “kill your enemies” teaching caused?

    Crusades Began with Reconquista

As you know but don’t follow, this is a concept which is embraced and promoted by Biblical / Christian pacifism.

    Crusades Began with Reconquista

“The paradox of being strangers who are alien to our culture and taking seriously the biblical call to identify, suffer, and live all people, even our enemies, will be integral to our journey to discover how the ‘Bible tells us so.’” (Dale W. Brown, Biblical Pacifism, p. 23) The “You are not...

    Who’s words are these?

As I pointed out, binitarians and the majority of unitarians read the passage as you do. Your comment doesn’t account for them.

    Who’s words are these?

I have no doubt whatsoever that trinitarians are trying to remain faithful to the way the New Testament itself portrays God’s action. My apologies if you thought I was saying otherwise. Have you read what Gregory of Nyssa said about Jewish monotheism?

    Who’s words are these?

John 10:11-18. You see this as Jesus saying that he will resurrect himself. Trinitarians, binitarians, and the majority of unitarians read it the same way. I’m a Jewish monotheist who believed Jesus of Nazareth is the Messiah, Son of God. (Not all Jewish monotheists do.) I don’t read the...

    Who’s words are these?

Thank you. I appreciate your feedback. It shows me, again, that you don’t know what I’m trying to do.
