    QUOTE for the day

“For people who point out that Jesus was never married, I want to point out that he’s had the most high-maintenance bride in human history for almost 2000 years.” - Michael J. Svigel

    Reason for The Crusades explained

Crusaders don’t do the work of evangelists. They kill the mission field. From my X / Twitter “Following” feed this evening -> an ex-Muslim doing the work of an evangelist: ”You know what’s been lighting me on fire lately? The more Muslims I tslk to, the more I realize many of them already...

    The God Of Israel

The Jews certainly knew who the God of Israel is. “1. The one God. (a) theos is the most frequent designation of God in the NT. Belief in the one, only, and unique God (Matt. 24:9; Rom. 3:30; 1 Cor. 8:4-6; Gal. 3:20; 1 Tim. 2:5; Jas. 2:19) is an established part of Christian tradition. Jesus...

    I don't identify as a "Christian"

Yes. Yes. Who is “The Father” you are referring to? In the Bible he is Jesus’ God and my God (John 20:17). That’s binding for me but it isn’t for you. What I’m interested in learning is how long you know your string to be. I’m just trying to get to know you better.

    Reason for The Crusades explained

The Christian speaker in the video contained in post #1 comes across as someone who is bound by the constraints of history. Bravo. If he were a member of CB and posting in this thread, I believe this would be a much different, and vastly better, reader experience.

    Reason for The Crusades explained

A brief excursus, cast into the wind. From my X / Twitter “For you” feed yesterday - “This is going to be extremely hard for some of you to hear, and a certain type will call me an elitist snob for it (even though it applies equally to me), but it has to be said periodically, so here it goes...

    Reason for The Crusades explained

I’m not racist. I’m not certain about you. I’m not Islamophobic. I have a little more certainty about you. I haven’t committed a crime. If the police decided for some reason to arrest me - “Caesar, what are you doing?” - then they’re not performing their duties in accordance with Romans 13...

    Reason for The Crusades explained

The war front has shifted. This is a backwater now, and I’m talking to the wind. Only one of them still bothers to occasionally lob a shell in this direction. Would any of them understand the meaning if they saw it? That calls for speculation on my part. Based on available data, “Maybe” is the...

    Reason for The Crusades explained

Violence against the followers of Jesus didn’t begin with Islam. It began centuries before then with Judaism and paganism. Jesus, the apostles and the early Christians were attacked by evil men with weapons of the world. They responded to the attacks without resorting to using the weapons of...

My wife learned to drive while we were living in Atlanta. Her car doesn’t look like this but her driving does -

    I don't identify as a "Christian"

I’m loosely affiliated with the Church of God General Conference. They issued my ministerial license. I don’t fully agree with the direction they’re moving in. I provide the affiliation information when asked but I’m not here to direct people to them. I point people to Jesus.

    QUOTE for the day

“If your life is dull and insipid, perhaps you ought to do what Abraham did: Love by faith and that’ll turn the monotonous to the momentous.” - Adrian Rogers

    I don't identify as a "Christian"

I was wondering what authority, if any, the Bible has in your life. Do you consider the Bible to be in any degree sacred, holy, authoritative, and foundational in your life? Is their a book (or books) beside the Bible that you consider, sacred, holy, authoritative, and foundational? Do you...
