    Reason for The Crusades explained

The first four hundred years of Church history documents their understanding and practice. He listened to the Crusaders, who came on the scene much later, so maybe he’ll listen to the early generations of Christians and gain a better understanding of how the Christian attitude to war changed...

    Reason for The Crusades explained

Will you allow the early Christians to educate @Wrangler?

    Reason for The Crusades explained

I’ll leave it to him to let us know. While we wait, my mind drifted back to the 60’s when this was playing on the radio - Benton Harbor, the white-winged warrior.

    Reason for The Crusades explained

I don’t know if he’s part of a white supremacist militia or not so I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt. He does exhibit a strong desire to dust off his weapons. Maybe he‘s a crime fighting vigilante and he’ll provide some anecdotes about his crime fighting adventures. I hadn’t thought to ask...

    Reason for The Crusades explained

I agree that a person not wanting violence and violence being inflicted on a person aren’t the same thing. The phantom pastor can’t prevent anyone from being a victim. Putting your dog down isn’t the same as you killing your enemies.

    Reason for The Crusades explained

@Debp is a Christian and I’m a primitive Christian. You haven’t educated me and I’m waiting to hear from her to find out if you’ve educated her. Scripture tells us why Jesus told them to purchase swords and the two swords they purchased wasn't for the purpose of collecting dust. Your...

    Reason for The Crusades explained

He answered for you @Debp. Did he tell me what you would have told me? If he did, that’s fine and I have a follow-up question for you. If he didn’t, you should have a word with him about it.

I’ve already responded to your question and my answer remains the same - Wait for the Messiah to return.

    Reason for The Crusades explained

Your teaching is false, which is easily demonstrated by appealing to the well-documented and preserved Christian attitude to war in the first few centuries in the history of the church. I invite you to read it and reconsider your argument.

    Reason for The Crusades explained

After all, it’s hunting season. Cromwell lost his head.

    Reason for The Crusades explained

“Caesar Says“ is a dangerous game everyone has to play. “Caesar says” … “repudiate what Paul says is the Christian armor and weapon or end up like Paul.” Say yes to Caesar and live. Say no to Caesar and die. Caesar doesn’t like being kept waiting. You have five seconds to decide. It won’t take...

    Bible reading plans

“The Bible is the only infallible source of truth. Read it daily.” - Trevor Sheatz If that is the extent of your plan, stick to it. Allow nothing to keep you from it.

    Reason for The Crusades explained

“The Scriptures are the food, the comfort, the armor, and weapon of the Christian.” - William Tyndale Those urging Christians to believe weapons of the world are the armor and weapon of the Christian rebuked by Tyndale.

    Who is IQ?

You’re a smart man @2bme. You make a lot of good points in the OP. I think you remember what the Bible says about wisdom.

    Reason for The Crusades explained

It puts me where the apostles and the earliest Christian are. The apostles and the earliest Christians had the Hebrew Bible “in print” and the followers of Jesus functioned in the roughly twenty year interim between the Messiah’s ascension into heaven and the first epistle of Paul (the...

Perhaps he did. I’ll deal with @Sister Fister until the moderators remove him from the forum. I don’t anticipate that will take long to happen; but that is their business, not mine.

    Reason for The Crusades explained

I’m a 1st century Christian living in the 21st century. It’s neither funny nor weird, as you’ll see when you read Luke 22:37-38.

    Reason for The Crusades explained

I was not being intentionally insulting. I stated my position to all of my readers. If that is too much for you then you are doing the right thing by taking leave of the conversation. No. My comment to you was in the form of a question. If you don’t believe me, go back and see for yourself.
