    God begets God?

If this is true? Why would anyone doubt that an apostle is born again? He isn’t a trinitarian. He’s a 1st century Jewish monotheist. Your post #188 began with the first verse of the prologue. Why didn’t you read the prologue? That’s the only frame of reference for a 1st century Jewish...

More on the deity of Christ

I‘m sorry I wasn’t clear in my post about the translations I was asking about. Post #197 quoted the prologue of John’s Gospel from the Tyndale, Cranmer, Bishops and Geneva translations. The translators of all four of those translations were trinitarians. I was asking for your thoughts on why...

    QUOTE for the day

“There is all the difference in the world between praising the Sermon on the Mount and practicing it. There is all the difference in the world between applauding it and applying it.” - Martyn Lloyd-Jones

    God begets God?

The author of the prologue is born again. No. It’s a fact, which can be quickly and easily confirmed by consulting trinitarian sources - Catholic and Protestant. (Which is what I’ve done repeatedly.) I’m not guessing. I’m very well-read on the subject of early church history.

    God begets God?

I didn’t direct your attention to any of those things. I directed your attention to Jewish monotheism. The author of John is, like the Messiah himself, a Jewish monotheist.

    God begets God?

See the explanation given by Jewish monotheism.

    God begets God?

I mentioned the Trinity this afternoon. X / Twitter promptly had something for me in my “For you” feed - “I teach a class at a Christian school. Today, my students took a test on what they’ve learned about the Trinity. Here’s one of the questions I put on the test (yes, I’d showed them the...

Barna Poll: Most Americans - Including Church Members - Reject the Trinity

Irreconcilability of Christianity and Judaism: The title of the 19th chapter in Bloom’s 20 chapter book. The title gnaws at me. It’s right. And yet it’s also wrong. Bloom, anticipating me, writes on p. 231 - ”THAT EVEN THE TITLE of this section will seem unfortunate to many readers is an...

Barna Poll: Most Americans - Including Church Members - Reject the Trinity

“… Greek theological formulations and Hebraic experiential memories simply are antithetical to each other.” (Harold Bloom, Jesus and Yahweh: The Divine Names, p. 234) Bloom (an agnostic Jew, smitten with Gnosticism) says a lot of things in his book which I consider nothing short of bizarre and...
