knocking on your door.....wanting access for certain, however the way you debate, the pride with which you interact, tells a story other than knowing.....yet it is hidden from you.
Good point. John 17:3 - And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent (which is an intimate, experiential knowledge, found only in a relationship). The term "know" implies intimate, experiential knowledge, through a relationship with Him and not merely theoretical knowledge.

Amen!....there are Christians who are not Born Again...I’m not saying they aren’t Christians ...there just aren’t Born Again of imperishable seed.imo.

Read this online Evangelical Christians, even those Christians who are professed Christians, are not "born again" and do not have a "personal relationship with Jesus."

A Born Again is in a relationship with God...when they become Born Again of imperishable seed...we communicate with God through his Spirit, the Holy Spirit..

The Bible is full of information on how we develop our relationship with God...through our spirit..as Spirit gives birth to spirit.

There are genuine Christians and there are "nominal" or pseudo-Christians. There are genuine believers and there are make believers. A pseudo-Christian is someone who claims to be a Christian, but in reality, their belief system is based on twisted doctrines, misguided beliefs, and a lack of true faith. This results in a false version of Christianity that is often characterized by legalism, hypocrisy, and self-righteousness.

92) Jesus came to bring division - Luke 12:51

94) Jesus came to give the Father's words - John 17:8

95) Jesus came to testify to the truth - John 18:37

They contained scripture references.

Which ones are you claiming to be untrue?
In most cases, the scriptures are taken out of context and don't prove that Jesus is God, In other cases, the English bibles we read have had words changed since the KJV came out in order to support the doctrine of the Trinity. Previous versions such as The Great Bible and Geneva Bible did not support that doctrine. Others are simply cases of taking a term like "I Am" and assuming it proves something that it does not. There are verses that appear to prove that Jesus is God, but the Bible says that He is Lord and King, but not God. So, it depends on ones view of the Doctrine of the Trinity because it changes how we understand scripture.

So, which ones are you claiming to be untrue... specifically?

I copied and pasted that from another site so if you have some specifics then I may need to update the list.

1) Jesus claimed to be God - John 8:24; 8:56-59 (see Exodus 3:14); John 10:30-33

John 8:24 states only that Jesus is the one who the Father sent to bring light to the world - not that He was God.
John 10 states only that His Father gave Him his sheep. As the Messiah, His sacrifice enabled the New Covenant that they may have eternal life. He did not claim to be God.

2) Jesus created all things - John 1:3; Col. 1:15-17

John 1 has been reworded from the originals. In the original versions of the English Bibless, word was logos and not capitalized - meaning God's speaking. Verses 2 and 3 did not say "he." Those verses referred to "it" again referencing God speaking things into existence.

3) Jesus is before all things - Col. 1:17

Context is important. Also important is the concept that all verse in the Bible, when compared, have to agree. When they don't seem to, then the reader must discover the truth that exists that is difficult to understand. In this case, verse 15 through 20 should be taken together. Since the Bible states unequivocally that Yahweh created our planet, the Bible cannot now say that Yeshua did it. So, that leaves us with determining the truth of the matter. First off, we should acknowledge that understanding the ancient Hebrew mindset is required in order to resolve difficult passages.
I note that Jesus is an IMAGE of God - not God. Secondly, the word translator before has several possible understanding. It can mean superior to, prior to, and in front of. So, we should keep that in mind. Secondly, we need to realize that the Hebrew (Jewish) authors have what we call "figures of speech." (See Figures of Speech Used in the Bible by E. W. Bullinger D.D.) I submit all things doesn't always mean All Things. Things previously created by Yahweh were not created again my Yeshua.
The verse speaks only of "whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers"
I leave it at that, as it is up to God to enable us to land on His truth.

4) Jesus is eternal - John 1:1,14 ; 8:58

See items 1 and 2.

5) Jesus is honored the same as the Father - John 5:23

John 5:23 does not contain a claim from Jesus that He is God. His statement refers to honoring God and His Son.

6) Jesus is prayed to - Acts 7:55-60

By one man. Jesus' instruction for prayer was not to pray to Him, but in His name. It is bey HIm that we have the ability to directly pray to God.

7) Jesus is worshipped - Matt. 2:2,11; 14:33; John 9:35-38; Heb. 1:6

John 9 makes no claim from Jesus to be God.

8) Jesus is called God - John 1:1,14; 20:28; Col. 2:9; Titus 2:13

John 1:14 is the first occasion where it is stated that Jesus was to provide the words of His Father. He "became" the light to tell the words of God.

9) Jesus is omnipresent - Matt. 28:20 and Jesus is with us always - Matt. 28:20

Well, that is not exactly what is said in that passage. Consider the term "end of the age." Jesus is the head of "the church" that He started. I would think that God also gave Jesus the status of being with the church until the last day.

11) Jesus is our only mediator between God and ourselves - 1 Tim. 2:5

So we not find it odd that, while we want to believe that Jesus is God that we are told that He is the mediator between us and God?

12) Jesus is the guarantee of a better covenant - Heb. 7:22; 8:6

His role as Messiah.

13) Jesus said, "I AM the Bread of Life" - John 6:35,41,48,51

John 6 actually is full of statements of Jesus not claiming to be God but to me providing the words of His Father.

14) Jesus said, "I AM the Door" - John 10:7,9

These verses state that Jesus is the Messiah, not God.

Lines 15 through 20 are only claims of Jesus purpose in being born of God to be the Messiah and speaking of His role in conquering evil in the world.

20) Jesus said, "I AM the First and the Last" - Rev. 1:17; 2:8; 22:13

These verses should not be taken out of context. From the time of the book of Genesis, Jesus was the one in the prophecy of the fall of Satan. So, from Genesis to Revelations, He was the first (prophecy) and the last (conqueror). However, that same phrase has been applied in other places where the "first and last" has been applied to Yahweh and Yeshua, but they do not state that Yeshua is Yahweh. Actually Yahweh stated several times that He alone is God. (Isaiah 44:6, Isaiah 48: 11-12)

21) Jesus always lives to make intercession for us - Heb. 7:25

Yes, He is the mediator

22) Jesus cleanses from sin - 1 John 1:9

Again, ref lines 1 and 2

23) Jesus discloses Himself to us - John 14:21

Jesus does not claim to be God in this verse. He discloses Himself because He is the Messiah.

24) Jesus draws all men to Himself - John 12:32

Jesus does not claim to be God in this verse. He draws men to Himself because He is the Messiah.

25) Jesus forgives sins - Matt. 9:1-7; Luke 5:20; 7:48

God gave Him the power to forgive sins on earth. It was forgiving through Him with the power of His Father.

26) Jesus gives eternal life - John 10:28; 5:40

Yes, because He is the Messiah - not God.

27) Jesus gives joy - John 15:11

Does not say that He is God.

28) Jesus gives peace - John 14:27

Does not say that He is God.

29) Jesus has authority - Matt. 28:18; John 5:26-27; 17:2; 3:35

Yes, given to Him by God.

30) Jesus judges - John 5:22,27

Yes, given to Him by God.

31) Jesus knows all men - John 16:30

This was the disciples speaking, but He does not know all things. He does not know when the end of days are coming. Only God knows.

32) Jesus opens the mind to understand scripture - Luke 24:45

I think the verse said the Jesus opened THEIR minds.

33) Jesus received honor and glory from the Father - 1 Pet. 1:17

Certainly, God is His Father

34) Jesus resurrects - John 5:39; 6:40,44,54; 11:25-26

No, He is the means of resurrection because of God working through Him. Everything Jesus did and will do will be by the power granted Him by His Father. After Jesus ascended to His Father, God gave Him authority both on Earth and in Heaven. There will come a time when Jesus returns all His authority back to His Father.

1 Cor 15: 12-28 Now if Christ is proclaimed as raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain. We are even found to be misrepresenting God, because we testified about God that he raised Christ, whom he did not raise if it is true that the dead are not raised. For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied.

But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, then at his coming those who belong to Christ. Then comes the end, when he delivers the kingdom to God the Father after destroying every rule and every authority and power. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death. For “God has put all things in subjection under his feet.” But when it says, “all things are put in subjection,” it is plain that he is excepted who put all things in subjection under him. When all things are subjected to him, then the Son himself will also be subjected to him who put all things in subjection under him, that God may be all in all.

Lines 35 - 52: None of them say Jesus is God

53) Jesus is the Savior - John 4:42; 1 John 4:14

Jesus' sacrifice enabled the establishment of the New Covenant. He was the "instrument." However, we should not neglect Yahweh, the true God, because He created and offered the New Covenant and provided Jesus to both repeat His Father's truths to people and to be the perfect sacrifice for the sins of the world, So, Yahweh is the savior also.

54) Jesus is King - Matt. 2:1-6; Luke 23:3

Yes, but God outranks all Kings.

Lines 55 - 63: None of them say that Jesus is God. They show what Jesus did while He was on Earth. We conflate the purpose and God-given authority of Jesus and the One True God making that "mystery" of the Trinity.

64) Jesus is the image of the invisible God - Heb. 1:3

Exactly - as was His role on Earth. But, he was only the image - not God Himself.

65) Jesus sends the Holy Spirit - John 15:26

Not that the spirit proceeds from the Father. Not from Jesus.

66) Jesus abides forever - Heb. 7:24

This proves nothing other than, we who follow the teachings of God through Jesus will abide forever also.

67 - 100: All point to His purpose of His being the Messiah - not God.

A proud plagiarist without the ability to fact check whether or not the "English translations" are contextually correct and accurate.

Oh well, this is a fact that we can rely on.

A proud plagiarist

A plagiarist is one who claims they authored a work... I never claimed I authored this.

Some of it is pretty interesting, but if you have issues with some of the wording you are certainly welcome to jump in and start posting corrections. thumbsup.gif

Na, I don't have to bother with doing that. I never post material that I know might be wrong. I just wish other members would hold to the same standard.

Anyway, others have already begun to comment on the errors that you have published on this forum.

Brother, I have done in my past the same you have done. I find that accepting the challenge to think over the responses have been beneficial for me. I can never know enough on my own, so I prayerfully examine the responses and let God set my feet on solid ground.

1) Jesus claimed to be God - John 8:24
Sad to start off with a lie.

John 8:24 I told you that you would die in your sins, for you will die in your sins unless you believe that I am he.

Not exactly "I am God" is it? Who is the "he" you are assuming in contradiction of:
  • Jesus replied, “If I glorify myself, my glory means nothing. My Father, whom you claim as your God, is the one who glorifies me. John 8:54
  • Jesus saying in John 17:3, John 20:17, Rev 3:12 that he has a God who is the only true God.

Jesus said if he glorifies himself, it means nothing. You say Jesus glorifies himself in the highest terms possible. I'll believe Jesus over you.

Does it make sense to you that God has a God?
