There is such an old book "Palaestina ex Monumentis Veteribus Illustrata" Author Adriani Rilandi - geographer, cartographer, traveler, philologist, he knew several European languages, Arabic, ancient Greek, Hebrew.
The book is written in Latin. In 1695 Rilandi was describing what was then called Palestine. He visited almost 2,500 settlements mentioned in the Bible. The study was conducted as follows:
* First he created a map of Palestine.
Then he designated each settlement that was mentioned in the Bible or Talmud with its original name.
* If the original was Jewish, it meant
"pasuk" (the sentence in the Holy Scripture in which the name was mentioned.)
* If the original was Roman or Greek, give the connection in Latin or Greek.
At the end, he made a population census by settlement.
Here are the main conclusions and some facts:
* The country is mostly empty, abandoned, sparsely populated, the main population in
Jerusalem, Acre, Safed, Jaffa, Tiberias and Gaza.
* Most of the population are Jews, almost all the rest are Christians, very few Muslims, mostly Bedouins. *
The only exception is Nablus (now
Shechem), in which approximately 120 people from the Muslim Natsha family and approximately 70 "shomronim" (Samaritans) lived.
* In Nazareth, the capital of Galilee, there lived approximately 700 people - all Christians.
* In Jerusalem there are approximately 5,000 people, almost all Jews and a few Christians.
* In 1695, everyone knew that the origins of the country were Jewish.
* There is not a single settlement in Palestine whose name has Arabic roots.

So, for example, in 1696, Ramallah was called Bethelah (Beit El, House of God), Hebron was called Hebron and the cave of Machpelah was called by the Arabs El-Khalil (a nickname for Abraham).
* Relandi mentions Muslims only as Bedouin nomads who came to the cities as seasonal workers in agriculture or construction.
* Approximately 550 people lived in Gaza, half of them Jews and half Christians. Jews were successfully engaged in agriculture, in particular vineyards, olives and wheat, Christians were engaged in trade and

It`s interesting that for over 70 years the Arabs in Israel have been offered a state of their own. So why have they not chosen to receive it? Well, for the Arabs to have a state of their own they have to recognize the state of Israel. This they will never do as they desire to annihilate Israel.
It was Israel that removed its own people from the lovely seaside area of Gaza. Israel did this to give the Arabs access to the sea. Did the Arabs appreciate this and build houses and schools and hospitals with all the modern equipment? No! The Arabs kept their people poor and took all the finance the world system gave them to build tunnels and build up arms to slaughter the people of Israel.
There are Arabs in Israel today who are part of the community. They have all the rights as a person in Israel. They are in the government and are actually not required to be in the army. Many Arabs do join the army though.
So....facts people may not know.

I was hoping @Jericho would join in because he knows all about the history that Marilyn was stating.
Also it was only when the Arabs started a war with Israel that Israel was able to regain territory.
And the Arabs were offered some land years ago and they refused it. So Israel took the land and caused it to flourish. Jericho knows about this...can tell it better than me.
I watch interviews of both Palestinians and Israelis. Israelis are willing to compromise but the Palestinians want all of the land.
I saw an interview of Arabs living in Israel and they were very happy there. They wanted to stay in Israel.
The Israel wannabees LOVE tooting their own horns. Otherwise they would never be heard of. Unlike Israel of the Bible, in the news every day! Such jealousy can lead to Hell Fire!

Well if the Palestinians would get rid of the part of their charter that calls for the extermination of all Jews, maybe they could live in peace with Israel! Also that land belongs to Israel by divine right! God will give it back to Israel during the millennial kingdom.
The Palestinian people do not actually exist. They are not an ethnic group like Egyptians or Syrians. They are an amalgam of Arabs who settled the land since the Roman days.
You don`t know all the facts. If the Jews were like the Nazis, then they would have tried to exterminate ALL those in Gaza. They could have bombed that whole region to pieces.
I notice you say you are a Christian. Remember Jesus told us to love our neighbor as ourselves.
