The other evening as I was pulling out of the drive with my grandchildren (12 and 6) their words immediately as we went left...were “wow”. From my grandson who is twelve this may not have been so surprising, but from our six year old; her reaction made me smile. The sun was setting on the horizon and the sight was ...there are no words to describe the sight expect maybe ...WOW! It wasn’t the sky but the ball of fire that was an intense indescribable color of burning. It is odd how during the day we could never behold the sun for its blinding light which causes you immediately to look away fearing damage; but at sunset we could stare freely upon the sight in all its glory. A ball of Fire. We had only drove a short distance before the sight had vanished and was gone.
Been thinking a lot about the following passage and wanted to share it. Psalm 19:1-10The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. [2] Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. [3] There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. [4] Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, [5] Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race. [6] His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof. [7] The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. [8] The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. [9] The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. [10] More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
Yes, we look above and ahead as that ball of fire sets on the horizon and we consider God and His handywork in the literal: a sun, a moon, stars, rainbows, electrical storms, and clouds. How often do we consider the handywork being the Sons of God created in Christ the Lord?
Consider the new creature. The kingdom of God within from there, Heaven on earth, a light moves across the mountains and plain to the ends of the world declaring God’s goodness and mercy: The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
Showing His handywork; the most profound everlasting handywork of the Son of God, Jesus Christ is the New creation created in Him, a name that is everlasting. When it has been stated “nothing new under the Sun” God said He would do a NEW thing. In a world that has grown dark and hopeless and disturbing and bitter and crumbling all around....the heavens declare the HOPE and the glory of God and the stars set as lights show His handywork indeed. His word says the heritage of the righteous is that they will condemn every voice and every action that raises up against them. The New Testament says the children born from above, by the work of the Spirit “approve” what IS acceptable to God. By that fruit which is good (prepared)of the Spirit of God a standard goes out that declares “this IS what IS acceptable unto God” and therefore condemning every action and every voice that is not acceptable. Hate. greed. Lust. To kill, steal and destroy. To war. To rob and plunder and bear the fruit of darkness. Consider James 3:18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.
Returning to the passage in psalms “There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.”
Others may say the children of God ...the New creature created in Christ the Lord cannot be compared to the heavens and God’s handywork seen literally daily. Paul said he had been distributed a line and would go as far as that line given and distributed of God and no further ...compare that to psalms “Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.”
Lastly the passage in psalms speaks of that light, as that ball of fire the brightness compared to lightening coming... the heat of God: “His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.
The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.
The Law of God...More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
It is ok if you don’t agree. More than anything I only want you to know that if you have been born of God ...You are His greatest handywork ... the greatest handywork of all being what is created ANEW in Christ the Lord to declare His Everlasting name and be lights “proving” what IS acceptable to God.
What a gift. What a purpose given in Christ the Lord to declare the handywork of God. Ephesians 2:10
[10] For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Ruth 2:15-16
[15] And when she was risen up to glean, Boaz commanded his young men, saying, Let her glean even among the sheaves, and reproach her not: [16] And let fall also some of the handfuls of purpose for her, and leave them , that she may glean them , and rebuke her not.
