The thing that struck me was the way God is portrayed as an old man in the sky. This is false, as God is spirit. It just strengthens the false idea so many people have about God.

There's always a critic who is set on diminishing the work of others. The "old man in the sky" image isn't important; the word of our Heavenly Father is what is important and that is what I'm spreading.

In any event, David, I deleted all of the images from this thread so as not to further offend you.

On another note (regarding inaccurate teachings), you tell others that Jesus tortures souls FOREVER in some eternal death camp (Hell) that makes Auschwitz look like a Girl Scout day camp. And you're offended because I used an image of God shown as an older man?

It's been a while since I posted here and you have reminded me as to why this community is so toxic. It's because of self-righteous members like you with Himalayan-sized egos that friendly fellowship and discussion is impossible.

I don't see the images you refer to,so to that I cannot comment.

I've used Google AI twice. Once for a link to a book on the Turin Shroud, and recently to have it synopsize if a Stephen Hawking book coincides with the Bible.

Those two results were impressive.

Though a friend of ours found out AI search results can not only be in error but also provide information that is years out of date.

Thanks, but I think I'm through seeking fellowship and support in this community. I encourage you to consider opening a TikTok account. It is a massively popular platform with nearly 2 BILLION users and there is a monolithic amount of Christian content there with far nicer Christians than exist here. It's also fantastic for cooking and everything else!

Sorry, I wasn't meaning to diminish anybody's work. I agree that it is the word of our heavenly Father that is important. However, I do think that the "old man in the sky" image can give people a seriously wrong view of our heavenly Father.

As far as the Bible (the word of our heavenly Father) is concerned, hell is as totally different to Auschwitz as )God is different to Adolf Hitler. God is perfectly holy (Hitler wasn't.) We have all broken God's holy commandments. Because He is perfectly holy, He cannot simply ignore our sins. That is why Jesus Christ came to this earth - to save sinners who believe in Him. I repeat that I was not offended by the images. I can believe something is wrong without being offended by it.

All I can say is that if you got that idea of me from my post, I am truly sorry. I don't have a great ego, and I am not attempting to be unfriendly. I am really sorry you felt that way. I don't mind God being depicted as "the old man in the sky". It represents wisdom and it's how most artists have depicted God.



Besides, how else would someone draw God.
The bible tells us that God made humans in his image. That could be taken literally and interpreted as God looking like a human. No one knows for sure despite some people being so sure of themselves. So I have no problem with that, it's just an artistic impression.

If God is invisible, He doesn't "look like" anything. We sometimes sing a hymn which starts:
