Someone asked you a question. You could of declined to answer. You chose to lie to them about it. It sounds willful to me
I agree, and that is what scares me. I am not used to lying. If I had not answered at all, that is a damning answer in itself, so that was NOT an option. To keep my privacy in tact, I was forced to lie. So who's fault is that? His or mine?

Declining to answer is always an option.
Just say none of your business.
I believe if you repent than God forgives.
Very few people think they are perfect after being born again, no one on this thread does. I sometimes have thoughts of lust and jealousy which cloud my mind and are sins. Remember that Paul also describes his battle with sin saying that evil is always there despite wanting to be good
