And let's no forget...
Proverbs 28:13
He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
Galatians 6:7-8 (see Gen 8:22)
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
It is evident that one must confess AND forsake their sin in order for the Lord to have mercy on them after they have sinned.
To say otherwise is to say God can be mocked, what we sow is not what we reap... if we sow to the flesh we do not reap corruption (no longer in right standing) and if we sow to the spirit we don't reap life (the opposite of Galatians 6:7-8)
Those in the OSAS camp have been deceived to believe the opposite of Galatians 6:7-8 because they claim when one sows to the flesh they do not reap corruption therefore in their view God can be mocked as OSAS is a mockery of the Lord.
The OSAS peoples even claim the Holy Spirit never convicts us of sin as though when a Christian sins the Holy Spirit would never lead them to confess and forsake their sin which of course is not what God's Word says.
