America's Constitution is just about gone

I never knew that piece of history. But what is going on today is the government gaining power and Americans losing it and Americans appear to be sleepwalking. I read that they have a center where American citizens can be taken and you're not allowed to contact a lawyer or your family. Government employees can keep you locked there indefinitely, and you have absolutely no constitutional protections or rights. The marine that John Whitehead represented made a Facebook post about Obama and was thrown in a psychiatric facility. This has ceased to be America.

While Americans have been treated to the sideshow of Mueller, the border, etc. even more constitutional protections were taken. From Northwest Liberty News:

Congress overwhelmingly passed—and President Trump approved—a law allowing warrantless searches of private property for the purpose of “making inspections, investigations, examinations, and testing.”

For now, the scope of the law is geographically limited to property near the Washington DC Metro system, but mark my words, this is just a way of testing the waters. Under the pretext of ensuring public safety by “inspecting” property in the vicinity of anything that could be remotely classified as impacting public safety, the government could gain access to almost any private property in the country.

Then President Trump, aided and abetted by his trusty Department of Justice henchman Jeff Sessions and to the delight of the nation’s powerful police unions, rolled back restrictions on the government’s military recycling program.

What this means is that police agencies, only minimally deterred by the Obama administration’s cosmetic ban on certain types of military gear, can now go hog-wild.

We’re talking Blackhawk helicopters, machine guns, grenade launchers, battering rams, explosives, chemical sprays, body armor, night vision, rappelling gear, armored vehicles, and tanks.

Clearly, we’re not in Mayberry anymore.

I read about a man in Florida who left to settle a family member's estate and when he got back he received a $30,000 bill from the government for "letting his grass grow."

When did our government get so powerful and why? What happened to a government of the people, by the people, and for the people?

Yes, Federal govt. gaining power and states losing it. Which means individuals lose it. That is exactly what was taking place in 1787 when the Articles of Confederation were thrown out. The Constitution of 1787 gave much more power to the Federal government and took away power from the states. Read up on the Federalists and anti-Federalists debates at that time.

Then after the War between the States even more power was given to the Federal govt. over the States. This is the root of what the Southern States were fighting against. When we lost, the U.S. lost. They just didn't know it. And they who support Federal govt. have been blowing the same smoke up their backside ever since.

I have to read about the Federalists - I don't recall ever hearing about them. It's good to know history because then one can be warned when it starts repeating itself. I've read time and again that America is becoming just like Nazi Germany - yet no one does anything. We all sense that something is deeply wrong in our country but we do nothing. I'm just wondering if we should do something - get involved in local politics.

The strength of the Federal government is concerning - I see what you mean. I'm just really concerned that American citizens are being treated like the enemy. Our emails are monitored, all our phone conversations are stored and can be listened to years from now. And new technology "predicts" future behavior. So we're having our thoughts and attitudes monitored. I don't know about you but that gives me the creeps. It's like a neighbor peeping in your window. I'm afraid to talk to my husband with a cell phone nearby. Now we have to worry that our online posts are in conformity to the Stasi who snoop, lest we get a visit from SWAT teams like that marine. The likeness to Nazi Germany is too much.

So what do you propose that we do?

That's exactly it - they say that all this militarization and snooping is "for your protection" but John Whitehead said that the government has become worse than the evil they claim to be fighting.

The way all this is going truly concerns me. The government is no longer of the people, by the people, and for the people. I just read where legislators used their state's "eminent domain" rule to kick a woman off a dock she owned; she lived in her houseboat. The city wanted the dock and they bullied the woman trying to get her property. They manipulated laws and harassed the poor woman trying to get her property. She went to a city meeting and began to speak about the corruption in the city and the legislators had her arrested! So you're not allowed to criticize the little gods who hold public office. There is something deeply wrong going on. It seems like all they want are mindless drones that follows the orders of our masters.

Government workers are not supposed to hold that much power.

Our rights are just about gone.

The problem with America is that it is becoming a 'democracy'. It was never intended to be, as many feared democracy, and rightly so. Democracy is fine if the mass or majority of the people are good God fearing people. But when the mass of people, or the majority are not good then you have the wicked ruling by the masses. The worst kind. America needs to forget 'democracy' and recognize we are a 'republic'. A government by the people through 'representation'. Not just by the mass.

Nothing wrong with getting involved in local politics. But the power of the Federal government over local government, over State government, is the problem. Most especially the Supreme Court. It is nothing but an arm of a political branch now. It is ruling by the judiciary.

The best thing you can do is know your history. Study the things we have been discussing. Our original Constitution. The Constitution of 1787. The origin of our Bill of Rights. The debates between the Federalists and anti-Federalists. The War between the States as to its real origin.

More like Communist Russia I would say than Nazi.

I got involved in political stuff going out listening to all the Party's people and one group that are not about the sides of political but just looks at all the political goings on and all can have a say regardless of who's team you are on, it one way of being better informed if you like, than just some dupe to the media or just the political spin that's dished up.

I would say that the new age Socialism has crept into bed with the really wealthy people over the years, now the top 1 % of the richest people in the world, in a way feed the ones under them with tactics of some sort of persuasion or another and they do the same down the line, so they are all on the same page sort of so to speak. so that they all tow the line and will vote for a Government, regardless of and moral point of view at all as that does not count for nothing at all, it's all only about money and fear tactics about money, so when one talks to many wealthy small businessmen of say under a worth of 12 million to say half a million, you will see that they don't give a toss at all about morals being an issue in voting. they will get angry at me for making morals an issue. they do not know that they are being boiled in hot water like a frog, because they can not see far enough ahead in the future to see the reality of what is truly going on and if they do well they don't want to face up to it.

Financial advisers are seen as gods, but the fact is that the majority of such people are just dups who are just a indoctrinated wind bag that just rabbits on what they have been informed, they have no real insight into jack beyond the norm that anyone can learn if one is bothered to. but don't be surprised if they don't truly have your own at hand. they are much like the average school teacher who lives in a bubble having not much true experience in the world and that's the problem mainly because they don't know and don't truly care. it's the same with any Bank a loans manager does not know jack about business in reality, the majority could not run a business if they tried, but they are only really looking at certain criteria so as to get you to sign on the line. now one will be asked do you understand all that's involved in this deal ? well the answer is yes you understand all that is involved, but fact is that most do not truly have a clue in depth at all apart from the obvious. they don't care if you can't cut the mustard as long as they are within the Law.

The top 1 % wealthy do not care and never did care about the Communist at all, they are not fearful of them, they control them ! all Idiots will fall into line and all Communist are simple minded dupes that are controlled by fear of the cunning degenerates that dominate them.

Yes, the masses today are wicked and that is when 'democracy' fails. This is why the U.S. was made a 'republic'. You really must pursue an understanding of this.

The best example is this: Note how the nation whines and moans about Trump not getting the popular vote? Well, that would be democracy. But our president is not elected by democracy. He is elected by the 'representatives' of the people of certain states. That is being a republic. You never want to change that.
