The attack on Jehovah's Witnesses is nothing new, for Cain attacked and murdered Abel his younger brother because "Jehovah looked with favor on Abel and on his offering", while with Cain, "he did not look with any favor" on his offering of "fruits of the land".(Gen 4:3-5)
Cain seethed with anger, so that Jehovah warned him: "Why are you so angry or dejected ? If you turn to doing good, will you not be restored to favor ? But if you do not turn to doing good (or take control of his anger, accepting Jehovah's reproof), sin is crouching at the door, and its craving is to dominate you; but will you get the mastery over it ?"(Gen 4:6, 7)
Rather than humbling complying with Jehovah's warning, he sought to build on his anger and allowed his heart to become treacherous and kill his brother, as James wrote about at James 1:14, 15. From the beginning of mankind's history, before Cain murdered his brother, the mutiny in the garden of Eden set the tone for the vast majority of mankind, that they would reject Jehovah's rulership and create their own.(Gen 3:1-6)
Some 1,656 years after Adam's creation, in 2370 B.C.E., only a body of eight people, of perhaps millions (no one knows how many people were alive at that time), looked to and carefully followed Jehovah's words to build an ark for obedient humans survival.(Gen 6:22; 1 Pet 3:20)
And after the Global Deluge, the first person beyond Noah's immediate family to "put faith in Jehovah" was Abraham.(Gen 15:6) Then, this legacy of listening to Jehovah was passed onto his son, Isaac, who in turn passed it onto his Jacob, which in turn led to the founding of the 12 tribes of Israel, who were freed from Egyptian bondage in 1513 B.C.E., after 400 years of "affliction".(Gen 15:13; Ex 13:3)
Then, Jehovah entered into a covenant with them at Mt Sinai, for them to become a "kingdom of priest and a holy nation", Jehovah's "special property".(Ex 19:5, 6) But over their some 1,500 years of existence as Jehovah's people, how many were loyal to him ? Only a small number.
From the beginning of mankind's existence, how many have "searched for Jehovah" ?(Isa 55:6) Just a handful. And why ? Because "this people has a stubborn and rebellious heart; they have turned aside and gone their own way. And they do not say in their heart: "Let us now fear Jehovah our God".(Jer 5:23, 24)
So, Jehovah now raises the question: "And my own people love it this way (of being rebellious and doing things their way). But what will you do when the end comes ?"(Jer 5:31) Yes, what will happen when "the end comes" at "the great tribulation" in the near future for those who have rejected Jehovah and his appointed channel for spiritual food, Jehovah's Witnesses ?(Matt 24:21, 45-47)
How many of those who call themselves Christian have made a deep, impartial examination of the Bible, willing to do as astrophysicist Guillermo Gonzales once stated: "My work, in part, deals with astrobiology from an astronomers viewpoint. I simply follow the empirical evidence wherever it will lead me, and I try not to let philosophical preconceptions color my interpretations" ?
How many realize what Jesus meant when, after being asked, "Lord, are those being saved few ?", to which he replied: "Exert yourselves vigorously to get through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will seek to get in but will not be able" ?(Luke 13:23, 24)
And over at Matthew 7, Jesus established that there are only two roads, one "spacious" that allows for any kind of "theology" while on the other road, it is "cramped.....leading off into life and few are finding it".(Matt 7:13, 14) At Luke 6:46, Jesus asks this soul-searching question: "Why, then, do you call me ' Lord ! Lord ! ', but do not do the things I say ?" And what did Jesus say to do ? Preach "the good news of the Kingdom" from house to house.(Matt 10:7, 11-13; 24:14)
But how many who profess Christianity are doing this assigned work ? The apostle Paul wrote: "For with the heart one exercises faith for righteousness, but with the mouth one makes public declaration for salvation......For "everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved".(Rom 10:10, 13; Joel 2:32)
How many are morally clean, hating what Jehovah hates and loving what he loves (Ps 97:10), whereby sexual relations is to be only between one man as a husband with one woman as his wife, and all other sexual acts are condemned ?(Matt 19:4-6; Rom 1:26, 27; 1 Cor 6:9-11; Rev 21:8)
How many are willing to recognize that the "Holy Trinity" (John 14:1, 28; 1 Cor 8:6), hellfire (Jer 7:31; 32:35; Rev 20:13), the immortality of the soul (Gen 2:7; Deut 12:20; Jer 2:34), a clergy-laity class with their religious titles (Matt 23:8-12), the cross (Deut 21:22, 23; Gal 3:13), purgatory (Ps 115:17; Ecc 9:5), worship of "saints" (Acts 10:25, 26; Rev 19:10), celebration of Christmas (Ecc 7:1; Luke 2:8), Easter (Luke 22:19, 20), birthdays (Gen 40:20-22; Ecc 7:1; Matt 14:6-12), etc, are falsehoods ?
David wrote at Psalms 4: "Know that Jehovah will treat his loyal one in a special way", so that "the light of your face shine upon us, O Jehovah, (who) make(s) me dwell in security".(Ps 4:3, 6, 8)
