Phillippians 3:8-9,
8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
I can't get away from these verses in phillippians. In study I see Paul giving a great understanding to us that are in Christ. He being a man that at one time was blameless in the law, describes what it means to be in Christ. "In Christ" is the only place you can find righteousness. In another place in scripture Paul said
2 Cor. 5:21
21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
Most of us grew up with some kind of denominational back ground. I personally started out as a child in one, then did my time in the world with no God knowledge, no ones fault but my own. In time and hell came into a new denomination for a while. One thing you must understand! It doesn't matter what you have been through or where you have been! It was all necessary to get you exactly where you are today.
All things work for your good, as well as all things are of God. So if you bad mouth anything in your past it really is'nt necessary, they were your teachers, governors and tutors (circumstances and situations), Gal. 4:1-2.
What is paul talking about when he says "and be found in him." To be found in Christ is a personal knowledge that you are giving your mind to Christ. There was a time I didn't really feel like I had been to church if there was no shouting and someone jumped up and got excited. Why was that! It makes you feel good, but the point is; what about the times your not in a feel good position, what then.
Being found "in him" you need nothing to make you who you are, you don't have to shout the devil down to feel good. You will not live by your feelings, you have a new life and will not need it to be propped up by some outer action. Men and women are good examples and the number one classroom in the schoolhouse. These two opposites trying to figure out life and live it. You will need to be "found in him." It is natural for the flesh to be weak, very needful, most of the time never satisfied and looking for something that does not even exist outside of being "found in him."
Can you see why Christians can have the same problems as the world and alot of times worse. You can be "in Christ" and not be "found in him." Your mind has never been given to learn Christ, you love God and probably do alot of good things to further the ministry, but have never been "found in him." Being found in Christ is a conscious effort to learn Christ. You give time to him, you study, you read, you seek, and wait on God knowing there is a revelation just for you of the Christ in you.
You listen to the Spirit, I don't know all the ways to tell you to be "found in him" but the Spirit can and will. The Dove of God is your instructor, not man, Christians should shut themselves away with the Lord and not come out until they know they are "found in him."
