It's a good thing the Dems don't do things like that!
Not now. But 60 years ago... It wasn't until a democrat president signed the civil rights act into law that those guys went over to the republicans. Democrats have no reason to make fun of MAGA; (edit: with regard to neo-Nazis and racists) a half century ago, those guys were democrats.

I just think its weird that we now have a number of radical ideas and groups we did not have in the past. or even comtemplate becoming. Its like the longer we move away from the horrors of how these ideas pan out in reality. The more they are becoming popular. Its not like some new idea has been formulated but a rehashing of old ideas.

Maybe its democracy itself that eventually allows alternative ideas depending on the culture and how it changes. It seems at least more outside ideas have come in recently which is clashing with long existing ideas with western culture.

I guess if the majority ends up being those who support such ideas then that will become the dominant culture. Or is it that certain elements of the system have been engineered to produce such outcomes over the majority.

The advantage of democracy is that it allows political systems to evolve over time. The disadvantage is that it can allow harmful ideas to evolve. Because the founders in America feared pure democracy, they included things like the Senate (where smaller states have a disproportionate power) and the electoral college, where the most popular candidate often fails to win. If these systems should repeatedly defy the will of the majority, there will be pressure to modify or end them. For example, direct election of senators.

Many are brainwashed by the Left media. I know. I grew up watching that crap!
The media in the U.S. is held mostly by right-wing people. It's slanted to the right, but generally, if they openly lie, people will stop reading/watching/listening. That's the dilemma for the far right; it's not enough to control most of the media; if one doesn't control all of it, the truth leaks out anyway.
