Hey David
If I am correct you are saying we still have to keep the ten commandments. I hear this alot that we are to keep the moral law, the ten. I dont know anywhere in Paul's epistles where he instructs us to keep the ten commandments. The other problem is you then have to keep the sabbath.. There were severe penalty for not keeping the sabbath for OT Israel............[Exo 31:15 KJV] "Six days may work be done; but in the seventh [is] the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth [any] work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death."
LOVE your response here.

i have to step out now and will respond later.

Shalom

Jesus' teachings went beyond the law. He expects his church to obey them as well

Mt 5:21-22 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

Mt 7:22-24 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Therefore
whosoever heareth(as in everyone who hears and knows) these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

Then they received the same gospel, right?
Jesus' teachings went beyond the law. He expects his church to obey them as well
[Mat 5:27 KJV] "Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:"
[Mat 5:28 KJV] "But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart."
Jesus expounded the ten commandments and taught how extensive they really are
Then they received the same gospel, right?
Paul's gospel of Christ was preached to Jew and Greek
Peter's gospel of believing on Jesus's name was for Israel. The Gentiles didnt receive it til Acts 10

If you believe the gospel you will obey the sermon on the mount. Jesus said if you don't you are building your house on a foundation of sand.

You are very confused. If the gentiles received Peter's gospel then "believing on Jesus's name" was not for Israel alone. The One true gospel, the same one that Peter and Paul both preached, was giving to the gentile first and also to the Greek.

Wrong:
Ac 10:34-40 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him. The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:) That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached; How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree: Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly;
Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead. And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.
While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
T[Act 10:24 KJV] "And the morrow after they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius waited for them, and had called together his kinsmen and near friends." They didnt go to the nations. The Gentiles saved were in Caesarea

The gentiles ARE the nations. Caesarea Maritima was a predominantly gentile city and was the first step in taking the gospel to the ends of the earth.

Dispensationalism is from the depths of satan = taking God's words and twisting to separate Jew from Gentile in MESSIAH

As well as many other lies to cause division and deception.
Amen. Unfortunately it rebuilds the wall of separation that Jesus tore down. And then it has us being unequally yoked with un-believing Israel, making no distinction between believing and unbelieving Jewry. What a mess it makes. I'm grateful to the Lord for being so faithful and gracious to straighten me out on a few things since my "Hebrew roots" days.

We do keep the laws and commandments of God...but in the new way of the Spirit now, not the letter that kills. How we as believers are to keep the sabbath law is by entering the promised land of His rest and ceasing from our own works. That is spiritual, not an outward expression which served as a type and shadow depicting and pointing (tutoring) Israel to the spiritual reality which is found in Christ/Messiah. Similar to the law about adultery...now we are to keep it by not lusting in our hearts at all....that is spiritual, not just outward.....mortify the deeds of the flesh through the Spirit.....new way of the Spirit, amen. As Jesus spoke about, not seeking to establish our own righteousness, but submitting/yielding to the righteousness of God, which is in us by His Spirit.

(Although I wonder if we follow the same pattern as Israel to some extent....I think many of us as believers start out seeking to establish our own righteousness to some degree, until we grow and become more spiritual and learn to yield to the Spirit and walk in the Spirit more....we are to grow in the Spirit and in understanding. )

Amen and HalleluYAH

There is but One Truth as you know and we find that Truth in Christ and every word that proceeds from the Mouth of God.

Our FATHER wrote a Children's Book for us, whereas the man/religion thinks he knows better.

Good Morning Doug,

Print out your comment here and then ask God for forgiveness of unbelief towards His Word and then go outside and burn the paper with your comment = which is antichrist in origin.

Doug, PRAY for the LORD to deliver your mind from the control of religion and ask God to forgive you for exalting the words of men above the words of God.

These are the VERY things that i did and God wonderfully set me FREE that i may SEE His Glory in CHRIST and His WORD.

For without faith it is impossible to please God

The One true gospel, the same one that Peter and Paul both preached, was giving to the gentile first and also to the Greek.
[Jhn 3:18 KJV] "He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."
[Mar 16:17 KJV] "And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;"
[Jhn 1:12 KJV] "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name:"
[Jhn 20:31 KJV] "But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name."
[1Jo 3:23 KJV] "And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment."
[1Jo 5:13 KJV] "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God."

All these verses say to be saved you had to believe on the name of Jesus, the cross for salvation was not being preached yet. Scripture plainly says this

In Paul we find our ten commandments to obey.

We are to obey His Commandments, which are written on our heart and mind.

When we are led by the Spirit, we are led to keep His commandments, not the law of Moses.

  • So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ.

And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ. Colossians 2:13-17
